Hard pick between Rocky Mountain NP and Yellowstone NP, ultimately went with Yellowstone for the slightly colder winters though. Just anecdotal but it was cloudy in Rocky Mountain NP when I was there in May 2015, fucking graupel, rain, and snow mix. Yellowstone is probably a bit sunnier in spring/summer/fall. The precip numbers and days seem to back that up. Not that Estes Park or anywhere around there is sun starved though.

Grand Canyon is the easy winner. BTW, Iβve been to all of these parks. The smokies are boring, Zion is ok, the other 3 are awesome. I've been to all of them too. I liked the Smokies, though.

All of them are a bit chilly but Zion is the best overall - really nice warmer half of the year and the rest of the year is tolerable.

I've been to Smokies, Yellowstone, Grand Canyon, and Zion but not Rocky Mountain. Sure that will change soon though.

Been on C-D for 8 years now and I literally had no idea the Grand Canyon is relatively mild. I honestly expected it to be like Phoenix. It pretty much has a Western Sydney summer (minus the humidity and rain) and Cooma NSW winters. Wow. Really didn't expect that.
Anyway, Grand Canyon for having the warmest, driest winters and mildest summers.

Maybe when the piece of fuck new age climate intensifies, who knows really.

Grand Canyon is now more colder than expected!

Great Smoky Mountains. Yellowstone is a complete fail, Grand Canyon and Rocky Mountain are also too cold, and Zion has the best temperatures but it's a desert.

Yellowstone is best, followed by Rocky Mountain. Grand Canyon gets 3rd place over the Smokies for higher winter snow. Smoky Mountain summer looks good though. Zion is last place for the hot summers. If you could move around the park, Grand Canyon and Zion climates become milder. You could move to the base of the canyon in the Grand Canyon winter and higher in summer. Link to averages for the base, south rim, and north rim. In Zion, the Kolob Canyons area is much cooler in summer, Cedar City is around that elevation For the others, the base climate is already cooler than most people like, so going higher up would not help.

Torn between Grand Canyon and the smokies, both are quite good however the former is too dry and I donβt like the arid spring while the latter is too rainy. Not sure what humidity is like at that elevation but high summer dews are a concern in Gatlinburg. Both seem to get about 50 storms so thatβs a wash, Gatlinburg has slightly better temps and variability but the summer humidity is worrisome and 150 precipitation days is a lot.
