A selection of infamous Australian serial murderers, and the regions they commited their henious crimes.
Ivan Milat, the Backpacker murders.
Victims were buried in the Belangalo State Forest, just off the Hume Freeway near Bowral, NSW
Milat died in gaol in 2019.
Joesph Schwab, Kimberley spree killer
Victims shot dead randomly in the NT and WA
Schwab shot and killed in shootout with police 1987
John Bunting, the bodies in barrels murders.
Victims raped, tortured, killed and cannibalised by Bunting and some family members/associates. Bodies placed in barrels and stored in a disused bank vault.
An absolutely chilling movie about the Snowtown killings....very hard to watch.
Bunting was convicted of 11 counts of murder and is locked away never to be released.
David and Caroline Birnie, the Moorehouse murders
Husband and wife team raped and murdered young women
David Birnie hung himsel in prison in Oct 2005, Caroline Birnie serving a life sentance with papers marked 'never to be released'.
Eric Edgar Cooke, South Perth Psychopath.
Sadly, two other men were wrongly convicted and imprisioned for murders committed by Cooke
Cooke was the last person to be executed in Western Australia in 1964.
John Glover, the Granny killer.
Killer of elderly women
Glover was sentanced to life without parole in 1991, hung himself in prison in 2005
Chis Worrell and James Miller, the Truro murders.
A dominance/submissive pair of rapist/killers
Worrell was killed in a car accident prior to discovery of his involvement in the rapes/killings. Miller died in prison in 2008.
Eddie Leonski, the Brownout Strangler
US soldier stationed in Melborne during WW2
Leonski was court martialled and sentanced to death by the US Army, and was hanged in Melbourne's Pentridge Prison in 1942
William Macdonald, the Night Caller, Australia's first serial killer.
A mutilator who preyed upon homeless and derelict men.
Macdonald, imprisioned and later declared insane died aged 90 in 2015, after being locked away for 52 years.
Leonard Fraser, the Rockhampton Rapist.
A vile rapist who upon release from prison for earlier rapes, then abducted, raped and murdered a 9 year old girl .
Fraser died in prison in Jan 2007.
