I was sitting out on my patio working this morning, listening to the wind in the trees and came up with a thread idea - What is your favorite sound you associate with each season where you live?

For me:
Spring: Song birds chirping (fuck you Wildcat, they are beautiful to hear lol) Summer: Wind blowing through the leaves on the trees Fall: Walking through piles of crunchy leaves on the ground Winter: Crackling fire and wind during a snowfall

Do they have to be natural sounds?

Except for the last one of course !

Do they have to be natural sounds? Nope, just a fun thread about what sounds make you happy in each season

Spring: songbirds Summer, swifts, crickets, thunder, children playing at the beach, leaves rustling in the wind Autumn: fallen leaves moved in the wind, crows Winter: silence, actually. Everything sounds muffled when it's cold. Also crows, and walking on snow

Kudjewk โ Monsoon season December to March. 24ยฐC โ 34ยฐC Heavy rain on the roof, the sounds of water gurgling in the downpipes, the green tree frogs calling for a mate. The sound of beer bottles being popped.
Bangkerreng โ โKnock โem downโ storm season April. 23ยฐC โ 34ยฐC Sounds of approaching storms, thunder, brief heavy rain rolling across the roofs of the houses as it gets nearer. The sounds of beer bottles being popped
Yekke โ Cooler (but still humid) season May to mid-June. 21ยฐC โ 33ยฐC Orange Footed Scrub Fowl roost in trees outside my bedroom window, howling and chortling all night. Curlews wander up and down the street, calling each other with their mournful wail. The sounds of beer bottles being popped
Wurrkeng โ Cold weather season Mid-June to mid-August. 17ยฐC โ 32ยฐC The sounds of unbaffelled Harleys accelerating up the street, the neighbour giving his partially restored F-150 a run. All the neighbourhood dogs going off as teams of criminal youths prowl the streets in the middle of the night. The sounds of illegal fireworks being let off indescriminately all over City for weeks prior and post 'Territory Day'. Police, Ambulance and Firetruck sirens wailing in the distance. The sounds of beer bottles being popped.
Kurrung โ Hot dry weather Mid-August to mid-October. 23ยฐC โ 37ยฐC The sounds of 'Mango Madness', 'going troppo', 'silly season'. Yes, this is 'domestic violence season', so the sounds of screaming, things breaking, doors slamming etc emanating from the apartments across the road. The sounds of cars pulling up at all hours at the local 'meth' house ( same apartments ). The sounds of beer bottles being popped.
Kunumeleng โ Pre-monsoon storm season Mid-October to late December. 24ยฐC โ 37ยฐC 'Silly Season' really ramping up now as it becomes hotter and more humid. Even the gentle loving couple next door, 20 years married, are fighting and screaming, "go fuck yourself" ! Ambos and Cops sirens become more frequent in my street. Some prick nearby is feeding the Sulphur Crested Cockatoos and the fuckers screach and scream for several hours every morning ( even louder than the meth heads over at the apartments ) Massive house rattling thunderstorms every other day and night, torrential rain on the roof, the green tree frog bloke ones calling for blokette ones to indulge in some horizontal folk dancing are actually deafening on a rainy evening. By 3.00am you wish they would shut the fuck up ! The sounds of multiple beer bottles being popped.

Summer: Heavy rain falling outside at night with thunder, heavy rain and wind hitting the windows during a strong storm, crickets chirping loudly at night.
Fall: Leaves rustling in the breeze, hearing crunchy leaves as I walk through a trail (in a four season climate), here: nothing
Winter: The sound of falling snow hitting the ground, crunchy footsteps in deep snow, silence and peace (four season climate), here: wind rusting the trees outside after a cold frontal passage, during a cool, windy, sunny day
Spring: birds chirping, sound of distant thunder, hearing people "WTF? Why is it so cold in March?" (four season climate), here: nothing

Based on where I've lived in before.
Summer: Cicadas screeching/crickets chirping, or the sound of thunder.
Fall: Leaves rustling in a breezy day or night, before or after a frontal passage.
Winter and spring: Birds chirping in a calm, sunny day, or the whispering of pine trees in a breezy day, before or after a frontal passage.

Ah yes forgot about the cicadas, classic sound of summer/early fall.
