Wow, that's really bad. And we were at like 110 earlier this summer, I wonder why such a sharp drop off in such a short time. Hopefully this is just a temporary thing, people might be on vacation or doing other stuff at this time of year. Hope it goes back to normal.

Lol no. Some regulars have been pushing members away because of personal attacks due to politics, other (new) members are only interested in climate battles, and some former regulars just don't feel like posting anymore. One cohort is people who are online every day, but rarely post for whatever reason.
I think we are on our final lap with this forum, if nothing changes.

Well damn. I went back and looked through some of the earlier pages of this thread and I hadn't realized just how severe and consistent the decline has been. 200+ posts per day back in the early days? Yeah it doesn't look like we'll be getting back into that territory. This thing really does seem to be on its last legs unfortunately. That sucks  Is there a particular plan for how this forum will be handled if/when it dies? Is it just gonna sit here abandoned, or will be formally taken offline, or what? |

The shoutbox is the number one reason I'm not as interested in this forum. It sucks away all activity from the threads so that most of the content is lost forever for me when I'm not constantly online.

Holy fuck. I know I'm late, but those numbers for the last week are the stuff of nightmares. 45 posts per day and a day with fucking 29 posts?! What in the fuck. A few months back, averaging 80 posts per day in the week and getting a day of 60 posts was considered shitty as fuck, now we're halving those numbers. I didn't realize how much activity has gone to shit.

Challenge: Starting on 1 September, everyone makes two posts a day. If you want to make it easy, just post your weather observation or daily summary, and an youtube link what you're listening to, or a embed a twitter post about anything. If you want to make it interesting, take 10 minutes to think what could be interesting to people to know, weatherwise or in another way. Maybe a record was broken today, maybe you found an interesting picture of a supercell, maybe there was a dramatic car chase today. Anything really. Even better than this, post something that people would want to reply to. Around 35 members log on every day -> 70 posts a day at least.
That wasn't to hard, was it? Gogogogogogogogogo!
