The Murray River is Australias largest river and combined with its major tributaqry, the Darling River, drains a fair amount of the continent.
The Murray itself forms the border between the States of NSW and Victoria except for in the far east where there is a land border. The River crosses into South Australia between Mildura and Renmark and empties into the Southern Ocean at Goolwa.
This is Australia's version of the Mississippi, albeit a pretty ordinary one...haha....even Mark Twain way back in 1895 wasn't that impressed....
The River itself rises high up in the Kosciuszko region of the Australian Alps, and is fed by generous rainfall and snowmelt.
