Gonna have to go for Quetzaltenango. It's at 2300m (7600') asl surrounded by equatorial climates. How the hell can it reach -11C there though?!

Launceston
With Quetzaltenango's shithouse record highs and crappy rainfal distribution, it's an easier choice than expected - though that's not to say Launceston is good by any means.

Launceston, barely. Those summers are disgustingly dry, but Quetzaltenango doesn't have enough seasonality.

Launceston by far, it's the best climate on Tassie.

Should adjust the poll to have a third choice..Abstain ! I normally don't mind ( too much ) highland tropical climates, but Quetzaltenango is pretty dry for its altitude and latitude. and Lonnie is one of those bog stock low altidude Tassie climates that are simply not exciting at all ( except for last years settling snowfall )

Quetzaltenango. Launceston seems to have better prospects of summer warmth and is sunnier. Quetzaltenango can't manage a single month with a mean low above 10 C and has a record high under 30 C. However, it also has mean highs over 20 C year-round and, most importantly, most likely gets way more storms. I'll bet they get a ton of storms during the wet season - looking at the forecast now shows wall to wall thunderstorms as far as the eye can see Also, I'm sure 22 C with the strong tropical sun at that latitude / altitude would feel much warmer and the sun would likely do a good job of heating your house. Launceston is pretty decent for what it is though. Better than anywhere else in Tasmania or NZ IMO.

Launceston because it seems to have some seasonality.

Delicious. A bit depressing getting those kinda temps in summer, but at least you won't be wanting for storms

Launceston is better, Quetzaltenango seems interesting with the storms but its seasonality is way too low.

Quetzaltenango barely I guess, warmer winters for cooler summers
