Sequel to the "Rate: Negros" thread. Another place with a funny name, the Greek Island of Lesbos has a much tamer climate than the hot humid hellhole of Negros. For being Mediterranean and having nice cool winters and hot summers, Lesbos has a solid A grade climate for me. True Mediterranean paradise.

I'll give it a C. Winters lame, summers a bit too hot, especially when the lows seem to be very stable. Winter means seem to suggest not many deciduous trees, but a macchia-type evergreen environment, so that's a minus.

Grade D, just like what most of southern Japan would get. Few degrees warmer in colder months(minus) exchanges opposite precipitation patterns(plus).

I actually don't mind Med climates......and Lesbos is your dinki di Med climate with the bonus of actually being in the Mediterranean Sea. And being an island, there is nothing too extreme heat or cold wise. At least a B+.

I'm so acclimatised to the tropics now that this seems quite cool to me, although objectively speaking it's pretty mild. I don't like the combination of cool winter temps and high rainfall (the rainfall pattern is the reverse of what I like). Among Med climates I prefer places like Perth and SoCal. Or the Southern-most parts of the Med. Still, I think this deserves a B for being generally mild-to-warm.

A B from me, gets a plus for the months adjacent to summer being warmer than Rome.

C. Not a bad climate, but also not the best. Negros is better.

B-
Positives: warm to hot (but not too hot) temps for most of the year, nice diurnals, presumably a lot of sun Negatives: winters too cool, slow warmup, wrong precip pattern

Winters are too wet and summers a bit too humid. But it's livable.

Summers too dry, but that's to be expected given the location. Can't complain about the winters because, while not ideal, they're still a dream compared to what I'm used to.

I give it a B. Btw the word Lesbian came from Lesbos due to Sappho. I lived in Mitilini for a small period of time and I do miss it. Pretty humid climate compared to Athens.

Also just wondering, what are your actual climate preferences? You post a lot of Greek climates, but what is your ideal climate?
