Damn, you guys are pretty harsh on this climate 😂 . It's pretty similar to my hometown of Christchurch but much wetter and without the foehn winds that were ChCh's saving grace. I have to give it a D. A warmest month of 12 / 23 C is not nearly warm enough and it's too cool and rainy overall (with such cool temps I really need it to be as dry as possible). Now that I'm accustomed to the consistent heat of the tropics I think I'd kill myself if I ever had to go back to NZ. What a steaming fat heap of BS. Motueka gets plenty of foehn activity and gets much warmer rainfall than ChCh (mainly of subtropical trough origin in Motueka vs cold frontal in ChCh). And of course Queercules liked your post. FFS

FFS Foehns are actually on a more frequent basis, but much more moderate in raising the temperature - any moisture bearing system from from SE through to NW will have a rainshadow effect and raise the temperature 2-3C, I woud guess. A definite and frequent effect, but nowhere near as obvious an effect as Nor'westers on the east coast.

Not sure what's funnier, the speech, or the dozen huge subwoofers apparently needed for the speech. If you look closely around the 15-20 second mark, you can see Mr. Mackey in the audience as he's also giving the intro speech lmfao.

A-. I'd give an A+ if diurnal ranges and precipitation amounts were a bit modified from the current one.

Yep, easterlies pretty much defined the climate in Christchurch for me, when I lived there.

C. So much lost potential. I don't know where to start. Much too dry compared to places further south like Hokitika or Milford Sound. Needs at least 50 more rain days. Rain too brief particularly in the summer. Rain too warm in the summer. Likely too much sun.
Motueka could have been so great but on closer scrutiny it falls faster then a fat man sitting on a broken chair.

Motueka is a B-. The summers are a bit too cool, winters seem nice though. Very good rainfall too.
Sunshine data look a bit lower than what it should be, I think it is closer to 2500hrs.
