Another Assyrian city in my ancient climate series. A mountainous town that lied on the northern edges of ancient Assyria (which is now in southeastern Turkey). I have roots that go back around to this area. Its name 'akkare' means plowmen or farmer. The climate is Dsa. Winters are absurdly cold for me and the summers are pretty nice (totally opposite of Mosul/Nineveh). So a D- for its very cold and unpleasant winters.

D–
The poor rating mainly due to its horrific hyper-arid summers.

Much, much better than Mosul, that's for sure! Temps are quite good, but the precipitation pattern is complete shit. I'd give it a C- due to a horrible precip pattern but very nice temps.

I give it a B. Summer is a bit hot, and thats the only downside. Winters seem like they would get lot of snow.

C-
Obviously better than Mosul. Summers are still much too hot/dry though.

C+. Winter seems to be as troublesome as hot summer in this climate. Reduce about one-third to half the amount of precipitation in colder months would look much better.

I didn't expect it to look that barren, I guess it's anthropogenically influenced. Also, the wet period that is warm enough for plant growth likely is too short. D.

That, or it must be the nature of the soil. The landscape does look unnaturally barren for sure, especially for its moderately wet climate. Perhaps they mine there a lot? Which reminds me, this very wet climate in Tasmania (Queenstown): ...Has a landscape that looks like something out Baja California or something: You can check more of it on Google Maps street view (link didn't work here for some reason)

D, summer is nice and warm for the two months it lasts, though very dry (a negative). Winter is better than here but that really isn't saying much.
