Thick sea fog on the Gulf Coast today. From Siesta Key live stream. Never got above 75 F at Sarasota, meanwhile a few inland areas reached 90 F. My high was 88.3 F (31.3 C), the highest since October 26th.
Extreme cold in SE SA this morning, because ofcourse

Wild weather today. The temperature hovered around 60 F/16 C all night before dropping down to 47 F/8 C at 7AM as the cold front came through. Final high ended up being 62 F/17 C but it was in the 30s most of the day. Forecast low of 17 F/-8 C tonight so more than 40 F colder than last night.
Another wind advisory for tomorrow with gusts up to 50 MPH. May also get some snow showers.

Eventful weather here with the strong cold frontal passage this morning. Today had a high/low of 63/28 here (35F diurnal is very large for this area, and easily the largest of the year so far) with 0.55โ of morning rain. Additionally, sustained winds got up to 34mph, and gusts up to 46mph.
Clear to see the cold front barrel thru in the hourly obs. Look at that massive dewpoint drop as winds shifted from southerly to northwesterly. From 56 to 24 in 4 hours!
Cold weekend expected with a chance of some graupel/snow squalls tomorrow before mild conditions return with 50s and 60s in the forecast next week

Satellite animation of the fog movement eastward across the peninsula tonight. Beginning as sea fog on the Gulf, the fog was driven all the way to the Atlantic by warm air advection ahead of a cold front. Fog is visible as bluish white, green is mid-level cloud, and red is high cloud on this nighttime microphysics view. We've had plenty of radiational fog this winter, but other types of fog are much more rare here, so this was quite interesting to see.

Ended up with 4.0โ (10 cm) of snow from the storm Wednesday night. Another month with double digit snowfall now, pretty solid after the poor start to the winter.
Epic variable forecast this week.
Per NWS:
Sunday: High 58 Low 24 Monday: High 37 Low 0 Tuesday: High 13 Low -4
Dropped down to 15 F/-9 C this morning. 22 F/-6 C as of the 8AM update with a forecast high of 35 F/2 C. Wind Advisory and snow showers possible so should be a fun day weatherwise.

Heavy snow today, probably 3cm or so. This wasnโt forecast by anyone. Seems to be a classic case of evaporative cooling - heavy snow with intense precipitation, turning to drizzly sleet with lighter precipitation.

Thundersnow possible here later today
5:03 AM PST Saturday 19 February 2022
Special weather statement in effect for:
East Kootenay - north including Invermere East Kootenay - south including Cranbrook Risk of snow squall across the southern interior of B.C.
Time Span: This evening through midday Sunday.
Highways: Coquihalla Highway - Merritt to Kamloops, Okanagan Connector - Merritt to Kelowna, Highway 97 - Clinton to 100 Mile House via Begbie Summit.
Locations: North Okanagan - including Vernon, Central Okanagan - including Kelowna, Fraser Canyon - north including Lillooet, Nicola, South Thompson, Shuswap, West Columbia, North Thompson, West Kootenay, Kootenay Lake, East Kootenay, Elk Valley, 100 Mile, Chilcotin.
Remarks: A cold front will move through the B.C. southern interior this afternoon, bringing colder temperatures and leaving the region favourable for snow squalls to develop starting this evening. There is also a potential for thundersnow late this afternoon and early this evening.
When a snow squall develops, a brief period of heavy snow with near zero visibility will impact localized areas.
Asides from that random autumnal cold front where we had rain at 16.5C at Jandakot and blustery cold front showers. This February has been hot, sunny and very consistent. The forecast shows consistent 33-37C temps, sunny days and lows in the 17-21C range until the end of the month; now the extended forecasts do show a return to average temps (31/18 kinda stuff) by the end of feb/start of March. But overall this February has been truly hot, consistent and helped break the record for most 35C+ days in a summer.
Calculating the end of month averages (using obs and also the forecast) i'm getting 34.7/19.4 which is a super hot month. Anomalies of +3.2/+1.1
And with that said...i'm looking forward to Autumn lol.
Also when I get back to Wiluna it's:
Feb 22: 41/23- sunny Feb 23: 43/26- sunny Feb 24: 43/26- mostly sunny Feb 25: 43/26- mostly sunny Feb 26: 43/27- mostly sunny
Nothing like the UK, but there was a snow squall here last night. It felt like a cold version of a summer storm blowing through. It was windy starting in the afternoon. Around 8pm some brief heavy snow appeared and ended as fast as it began. Total snowfall about an inch, no thunder.
Timmerman airport on the northwest side of Milwaukee reported a 75mph wind gust. Most of the stations in the area were in the 40s or low 50s so the 75 is a huge outlier. The format is temp / dew / RH% / wind chill / wind direction speed gust / visibility / conditions / cloud cover / pressure / sea level pressure / altimeter setting
However, West Bend is 25 miles north and it also saw a 72mph gust. Real or fake? In any case, it was an interesting thing that doesn't happen much in the winter months.

Variably cloudy with a high/low of 41/26 as a couple squalls with mixed rain/graupel/snow blew thru this afternoon. Only trace precipitation recorded, but the bigger story has been the cold NWโly winds, sustained over 30mph and gusting over 40mph. Scattered power outage reports.
