November turned out to be pretty mild, a few degrees above average. We did have some pretty nasty snowy/icy conditions toward the middle of the month, but aside from that it was pretty decent overall. Was a slightly cooler than average month here (still recorded a couple days in the 70s however), but the real anomaly was that it was much drier than average, with just 0.81" of precipitation (all rain) compared to the normal of over 3". That makes this month the driest since September 2019. It was also a very drizzly month, with rain still accumulating on 9 days. The highlight of the month was the severe weather outbreak that brought 6 tornadoes to Long Island on November 13, and this was probably the worst severe weather outbreak of all time on Long Island as well as the worst outbreak for the NYC metro as a whole since November 1989.

A cool, wet, cloudy and relatively stable month with some storm activity. Although it wasn't too bad, it definitely could have been improved by more warm days and sunshine. Not much else to say that hasn't previously been said.

What a month eh? It had the coldest November highs since 1999, coldest mean since 2001 and was the gloomiest on record! That's back to 1955! And with just 35% of possible sunshine, it's the gloomiest month we've had since February of 1973. It's the complete opposite of 2019 when we were super dry and constantly on fire. And nothing about December so far, or the forecast for the next few days, suggests there's going to be much of a turn. La Nina summer, might be one for the ages.  |

What's your biggest problems with the precipitation? I can quickly make a box of the normal precipitation during this normal period.

What's your biggest problems with the precipitation? I can quickly make a box of the normal precipitation during this normal period.
It's not a huge gripe, but I prefer more precip in spring than it received this year. After a "dry" winter I prefer more spring precip |

Ok, well that's not gonna happen. In all of Finland spring is the driest season, and Oulu is on the extreme end of it. MAM normal precipitation is 26, 23 and 40 mm.
