D - Continental, for the most obvious reasons. A tie between C/E would get 2nd from me.

There is no contest. It's C, temperate, not "subtropical".
I would rank the other four from best to worst as A, D, B, E.

Tough choice. B, C, and D all have A climates but also have some abysmal ones.
B and C have a bit broader ranges of climates I like. My dream climate though is technically Dfa. The best real world climate is Cfa.
That said plenty of all these groups fall into the E/F range. All of D-c and B-h can be written off as awful and they are joined by plenty of Koppen C climates.
Classifications with A climates are BSk, Cfa, or Dfa, with some tiny specks of Cwa/Dwa. That leaves a pretty narrow range of good climates in all 3 groups.
Letโs just say I donโt know.

C (subtropical/temperate) is the best grouping by FAR. Home to my 3 favorite climates, those being Csa, Csb, and Cfa.
The other four would rank in order from best to worst as B, A, D and E.

I voted tropical, but I really think the transitional zone between the tropics and subtropics (about 20-30 latitude) offers the best climates for my tastes.

Tough choice. There're lots of fine BSh and Csa climates but B and C also have rather poor climates; I think I'll vote a C.

Watch the naysayers come outta the woodwork... in reality the US version of 'subtropical' is far and away removed from the 'subtropical' versions in the rest of the world... better off describing the US 'subtropical' as 'subcontinental', sure further south into the latitudes of Georgia and Florida fits the bill, but try suggesting that and one would think one was trying to bed ya grandmother.... lol.... y'all get caned for such a suggestion... ! As old mate trolik says, the SH subtropics, in particular the southeast QLD coast, is archtypical subtropical. |

I've shifted away from preferring dry climates somewhat, the warm C-group climates are the best of course.
I'd rank the following for best to worst...C, B, A, D, E (the worst two are distant from the better three).
