Here is Matam last year, in interior Sénégal on the Mauritanian border. Probably amongst the worst Sahelian lowland climates for oppressive heat (some areas in Sudan, like Kassala, are similar). It has ~20,000 inhabitants, so not much of a UHI if any. The average mean temp is 31c for 1991-2020 (https://www.climatestotravel.com/climate/senegal/matam) and this year was 1c hotter than that for a 32.2c/90f annual mean (although there are a few missing days).
