This will take a long time to complete but I'll start out with Burma. Funny that these two are only about 200 miles from each other. ***Coldest/hottest being the climate with any month averaging colder or hotter than anywhere else in the specified country. Records and annual temperatures, while important, aren't a factor for this exercise.***

(There may be other places that I am not aware of, so correction is welcomed) Mount Wellington, Tasmania (close-call was Miena Tasmania): Wyndham, Western Australia (close was Marble Bar WA)

Nope, Minbu has a hotter April. lol thanks for checking. I focused too much on the highs. Didn't realize the lows were so much lower in Magway compared to Minbu. Oddly enough, Minbu and Magway are only 5 miles apart.

In the US, would it be Death Valley and Mount Washington?

In the US, would it be Death Valley and Mount Washington? Yeah Death Valley most likely or if not, somewhere nearby. Why Mt Washington and not somewhere in Alaska?

I was focusing on contiguous US, as I think Alaska is a "climate cheater" as it's very northernmost, within the Arctic vicinity and not attached to the US. But counting Alaska, maybe Kaktovik is a contender for being the coldest? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kaktovik,_Alaska#Climate

In the US, would it be Death Valley and Mount Washington? Would be interesting if someone did the math of Utqiagvik and Furnace Creek to show of what can be in the middle; I mean, I can do it certainly, but I find alot of this stuff tedious, despite it being very rewarding in the end.

That will be interesting for sure. Someone should do it! My math sucks....

For Canada the hottest would be Discovery Island, BC with a 52.7°F mean and the coldest would be Eureka, NU with a -1.8°F mean.

What is the highest weather station with 30-y averages in Alaska?

While Discovery Island might be the mildest annually, in this thread it should be for the climate with the hottest/coldest average month. Looks like Windsor barely beats out Osoyoos. Not sure if there is anywhere hotter though...

I think Eureka would still have the coldest month though, unless there's climate data for someplace like Mt Logan.

In the US, would it be Death Valley and Mount Washington? I think the summit of Mt Elbert in Colorado is the coldest place in the lower 48. Pikes Peak is 8°F/-4°F in January and 48°F/34°F in July, and Elbert is higher so most likely cooler than that

Let's revive this dead thread! Anyways, I'll knock out three small countries, each with zero/one weather station: (so coldest or warmest is confusing) Vatican City
Monaco (Though the surrounding hills would be very slightly cooler, but not data) Nauru (Weatherbase is the only data source...)
