I've always thought of Canberra as an icy cold hole ( by AU standards ) I went to an eldely Aunt's 90th birthday in Nov a few years ago... Nov day after the passing of a cold frontal system....12c and rain....shock to my tropical system lol.
Frosty nights in winter, particularly in drier years, are relentless.
Auckland ? best described as comfortable, but bland.

Canberra easily. It actually has decent temperatures and variability. Auckland is just a shittier, more stable version of Melbourne.

I'll take Auckland's temperatures and Canberra's sun/dryness. But since the poll wants me to choose one of these climates, I'll have to go with Canberra. I definitely won't be fan of the freezing winter mornings btw.

Canberra. A little cooler but much drier and sunnier with the potential for some proper heat in summer vs Auckland's record high of 30 C 😂
Auckland's summers are pathetically cool for the latitude, even parts of London have warmer summer means! The winters are mild but very wet, so I think Canberra would actually feel warmer.

IDK, I like both; but Canberra is sunnier in its winters but also a tad bit drier, which isn't as good. Auckland does have more drizzle it seems though.
