Way too hot imo, but I'm also looking forward to experiencing such heat in the UK. Never thought it would be in Yorkshire though! Crazy eh!

The way those models are looking, the hottest temp in the coming days may be in the north, around York or Hull.
We may have a situation where somewhere in the north of the country holds the national heat record. Given the freakish nature of the heatwave, it may never be beaten.

Meanwhile, one of our local TV meteorologists issued a forecast in Celsius to make it seem cooler. It would be strange if England managed to get hotter than us over the next 10 days.

Less than 100 hours away now. Be very afraid. If it holds true, then 44°C/111°F as far north as NL/BE border!

Less than 100 hours away now. Be very afraid. If those numbers verify, that would be nearly just as anomalous as the PNW heatwave last summer. Would still need to nudge them up a couple degrees to be comparable, imo.

I like how Benny is caught up on that 109. 109 is unlikely but even 103-105 seems probable as of most other forecasts which would still be smashing records for the UK. Seems to me he’s just jealous.

If those Celsius temps shown were actually Fahrenheit, that could pass for an average, albeit very dry and stable, January forecast here.

July's record high in Portugal has been broken yesterday. Update: Looks like sensor placement is pretty bad, clearly reporting too high temps:
