Similar names, very different locations in the world geographically, ie Northern Hemisphere coastal and Southern Hemisphere inland. Similar latitudinally 33.7*N and 36.6*S. Myrtle Beach firmly in the US version of a 'subtropical' climate location. Myrtleford is rated a 'temperate' climate in AU. Myrtle Beach According to the Kรถppen climate classification, Myrtle Beach has a humid subtropical climate or Cfa โ typical of the Gulf and South Atlantic states. The city enjoys abundant sunshine year-round with more than 2800 hours annually. Myrtleford Myrtleford has a temperate climate with more rain in winter than in summer and a high diurnal range throughout the year. Under the Kรถppen climate classification, the town has an oceanic climate (Cfb). Some detailed stats Max temps Min temps Rainfall So there you have it....me ? well I don't mind either climate. Myrtle Beach is OK, despite being suscceptibe to the odd polar blast, has a nice cool down after the heat and humidity of the summer season. Myrtleford at the foot of the Victorian Alps, deep in the Ovens Valley, has a generally warm mild climate....mind you, those cool summer nights and diurnals generally are not that good...

Myrtleford's summer lows are far too cold and I obviously know very well about the other climate! It really is a mixture between true subtropical and temperate. For the woodlands around creeks and rivers, it is predominantly deciduous along with broadleaf evergreen bushes and dwarf palms. Myrtle Beach is a four season climate, but it can also grow things like mandarins, rosemary, and several species of palms. Palm trees are very common, but much of the actual town has more than just that, including deciduous trees.

Myrtle Beach easily. Myrtleford is disgusting with its cold summer nights and cool, wet winters. MB has similar winters but probably at least some of that precipitation falls as snow.

Myrtleford in a landslide, very good climate, nearly an ideal temperature profile and itโs decently Mediterranean in precipitation pattern as well.

Myrtleford, despite its cool nights all year round - But hey, you're always indoor at nights and there's less chance of encountering disgusting cockroaches. At least the summer days are hot, and that's what matters. Myrtle Beach is too humid in the summer, but it's still better than other places in SE US.

Not only the best place in AU, Darwin also has the biggest and best cockroaches. As the wife of a mate of mine once said ( visiting from down south near Myrtleford actually ) upon encountering a big bastard in my kitchen, "OMFG, the bloody things can fly !!!". Yes they come winging in like a B-52 bomber....lol ! Then she really freaked when a big native tree rat darted out from behind the fridge and ate it....she screamed, " a rat"!, Me, "is ok, keeps the cockroaches under control..."

Looking at the climate data I would think yes....?

They're both decent but the Victorian one wins for having cooler winters and summers with lower humidity.

MB south caronila, its actually cooler than I thought it would be. I dont trust those averages. Almost the same averages as here for annual. Here is the myrtle beach airport. This makes more sense.

Looking at the climate data I would think yes....? I have no idea about those things, cause I've never looked into them tbh; I would think they would grow better in places like Savannah, GA and Jacksonville, FL instead of Myrtle Beach. Frost isn't rare during the winter also, but not every night is frosty, light or hard. Myrtle Beach has a lot of maple, tupelo, and sweetgum trees all over the place as well as the pine forests and palms, but nothing truly tropical like you would see in FL.

Myrtle Beach wins in my opinion even with its hot and muggy summers, as Myrtleford has too cold nights the entire year.

Myrtle Beach for being warmer (though more muggy in summer) and wetter!
