A climate battle between the Southern and Northern Hemisphere. Similar altitudes and hilly locations, and of course a difference in latitudes.
GERMANTOWN
A locale called 'Germantown' is actually quite rare in Australia, as many German sounding place names were Anglicised during WW1 and WW2.
Germantown is a small grazing district located near the Tawonga Gap in north eastern Victoria, and about half way between the towns of Bright and Mt Beauty at the foothills of the Victorian Alps. The Tawonga Gap is at 885m asl and the road between Bright and Mt Beauty is a popular cycling destination for lycra clad wankers.....
I've included the climate data for both Bright and Mt Beauty as representative of Germantown.
Climate
Autumn in Bright is colourful and lush, with cool days and cold nights.
Owing to its southern latitude, Bright has an oceanic climate (Cfb) under the Köppen climate classification scheme, with four distinct seasons. Summer is warm and usually dry, with cool nights. Autumn is mild and damp. Winter and spring are wet. Frost common during the winter months, with occasional snowfall.
NUREMBERG
So, some town in Germany ( Bavaria ), Nuremberg fits the bill ( but we wont mention the rallies, the thousand year Reich, the post war trials etc )
The second largest city in Bavaria after Munich. An historic city often regarded as the center of Germanic cuture and as such the place has a fascinating history.
Climate
Nuremberg has an oceanic climate (Köppen Cfb) with a certain humid continental influence (Dfb), categorized in the latter by the 0 °C isotherm.[15] The city's climate is influenced by its inland position and higher altitude. Winters are changeable, with either mild or cold weather: the average temperature is around −3 °C (27 °F) to 4 °C (39 °F), while summers are generally warm, mostly around 13 °C (55 °F) at night to 25 °C (77 °F) in the afternoon. Precipitation is evenly spread throughout the year, although February and April tend to be a bit drier whereas July tends to have more rainfall.
