Ethereal made a similar thread regarding your least favorite wind directions a few months ago. This one, will be about your favorite wind directions. Southwesterlies and westerlies are the best here, especially in spring, summer and fall, as they signify ridging/high pressure to the south or offshore, or zonal flow—bringing warmer, drier air. Land breezes are always king. Southerlies can be good too, when sea breezes enhance convective and thunderstorm development in summer days, or warm days ahead of cold fronts in fall/winter/spring. As for my least favorite wind directions here, well, are the gay piece of shit northeasterlies and easterlies. They tend to ruin interesting weather potential, fuck up heat waves and cold snaps, and can mean CAD.

It varies based on season. During summer, my favorite wind directions here are westerlies and northwesterlies, as these dry, downsloping winds bring low humidity, hot temperatures, plenty of sun, and almost never bring rain. During winter, southeasterlies are the best wind, bringing plenty of mild oceanic air and heavy rain. Finally, the favored wind in the spring/fall is southwesterlies, as they bring the best potential for thunderstorms while also being good for mild to warm conditions.

To update my answer, southwesterlies/westerlies/northwesterlies (especially the first two) are my favorite wind directions in the colder half of the year, too, for the aforementioned reasons.

West and north westerlies at this time of the year brings us monsoonal rains. But at any time of the year I'm close enough to the coast to get afternoon north easterly to north westerly sea breezes, helps cool things down somewhat.

Any that brings favourable conditions. It literally does not matter for any other reason.

Northwest or west is likely to bring sunny and dry weather which is usually a good thing. East or northeast brings milder weather which is sometimes a bad thing. I usually am hoping for cool weather so NW it is. It doesn't matter much to me, though. Sometimes I want milder cloudy weather, sometimes I want cool and dry, sometimes I want warm and dry, and sometimes I want wet.
A northeast breeze in early June causing a 59/50 (15/10C) cloudy day? Not a fan. A northeast breeze in early September causing 77/68 (25/20) instead of 86/68 (30/20)? That's decent. A northeast breeze in January causing lake effect snow? Awesome.
