The eternal battle of West verses East. Both places inland from the coast and at similar latitude, but on different sides of the Continent. Similar yearly rainfall totalls, but very different rainfall regimes. DWELLINGUP, WESTERN AUSTRALIA. Climate: Dwellingup is one of the wettest inhabited places in Western Australia, with an average annual rainfall of over 1,200 mm. It has a hot-summer Mediterranean climate (Köppen climate classification: Csa). TAREE, NEW SOUTH WALES. Climate: Taree experiences a humid subtropical climate (Köppen: Cfa, Trewartha: Cfal/Cfbl); with hot summers and mild winters; and with a moderately high precipitation amount of 1,149.7 millimetres (45.25 in), with moderate precipitation even during its drier months. The highest temperature recorded at Taree was 45.7 °C (114.3 °F) on the 12th of February 2017; the lowest recorded was -4.0 °C (24.8 °F) on the 14th of June 2004, the 14th of July 2002, and the 29th of August 2003.

Taree for being warmer and a tad drier, and because Dwellingup gets apocalyptic amounts of cold rain in winter.

Taree. Vastly superior summer lows, and more storms. No brainer.

Taree
Rainfall distribution is much more sensible, and its summer average lows actually resemble summer.

TareeRainfall distribution is much more sensible, and its summer average lows actually resemble summer. Don’t lie. You prefer winter to be the wettest season of the year, and summer the driest.

Taree.
I like Mediterranean climates but Dwellingup's winter rain just seems too much
Dwellingup because the idea of a wet and even somewhat humid summer doesn't appeal to me

Taree, A climate Dwellingup is a solid B hindered by med precip pattern (winter rainfall is overkill too) and avg lows in summer

Taree for having warmer and drier winters and being drier year round.

Both climates are shit, but I'll choose Taree for the wetter summers.

TareeRainfall distribution is much more sensible, and its summer average lows actually resemble summer. Don’t lie. You prefer winter to be the wettest season of the year, and summer the driest. While this is true, Taree's precipitation pattern is a bit more even - while Dwellingup is quite washed out in winter and quite arid in summer. I'm not so much into those kinds of extremes.

Taree for being consistently sunnier (I believe its sunshine hours are around 2700) and also for being a bit warmer in the winter. I just noticed Dwellingup has unusually low sunshine hours for its location - Sunny Perth is not that far north from it and Dwellingup is not that high altitude. So why are it sunshine hours so low compared to Perth's 3200+ SH? 🤔 They're roughly the same distance between Sydney and Newcastle and these two pretty much have similar sunshine hours. 😕
