The American one or the Chilean one?

Both of these climates are really good, and I prefer the one in Chile.
Chile has more rain, and it even gets some amount of rain in the summer, which I like. I also like cooler temperatures in winter. LA in Chile has cold summer nights even compared to the Bay Area, but overall it still wins for me.

LA ( USA ) for the warmth

Chilean for cool nights even in summer, but I wouldn't mind to take the Californian either.

Los Ángeles, Chile wins it in a landslide for having proper cool, rainy winters. Coastal LA in the US is a semiarid climate, not truly Mediterranean. If the Chilean one had warmer nights, it'd be basically a perfect climate.

California and it has cooler suburbs nearer the sea.

'Murica, fuck yeah!
The Chilean one has polar average lows in summer and chilly, washed-out winters. LA, CA isn't great but it's at least warmer year-round.

Los Angeles, CA for sure.
Btw, Retardbase is a fake climate "source"

Southern California temperature profile + Araucanía precipitation regime I wish SoCal had properly rainy winters so that it could be a proper Mediterranean paradise instead of just its current decent but boring semiarid zone. I'd love a permanent El Niño ENSO state, it'd increase SoCal rainfall dramatically, and it would also drastically suppress the development of tropical cyclones in the Atlantic Basin

Los Angeles, CA for sure. Btw, Retardbase is a fake climate "source" Here's real climate data for Chillán, it's slightly north of Los Ángeles, and with essentially the same geography in the Chilean central valley. I'll try to find real data for Los Ángeles itself.

Chile. It's not arid and has more seasonal variation.

In climate battles, it's best practice to choose based on the actual climate itself that is being battled and not surrounding climates. I disagree. Los Angeles is a large city of microclimates. Why should the op just get to cherry pick one of these microclimates. Coastal climates of LA are still part of the city. If I lived in LA that is where I'd be. And it's still Los Angeles. So there is no problem here. If I was doing a climate battle of a large city like this with notable temperature variations at different weather stations, I would present the data for all the areas available, to give the proper choice of all the areas one can live. Why restrict the voter to just one suburb of a huge city? That is illogical. So I stand by my view.
