Both cities are at 12ºN with very similar climates, yet there are some key differences. Which is better though?

Both are pretty good imo....bit light on the rainfall of course and Nha Trang has that late onset of the rainy season typical of the eastern coastal regions of Viet Nam. My eldest son has spent some time in Nha Trang and he says it is cooler and more pleasent than Ho Chi Minh City, Bangkok and Darwin.

Nha Trang
Both good, but the Vietnamese one wins for having a more-traditional seasonal pattern, and its driest months aren't as arid.

Managua for having relatively cooler nights My choice as well for that reason. It also has a longer wet season, although less intense than Nha Trang's, which has only four wet months.

Nha Trang for being cooler (even if dew points are higher year-round), cloudier during the dry season, and having more seasonal temperature variation without an anomalously oppressive sun-high season (at least by regional standards).
