^not the best index when Indio scores very high with 4 brutally hot months and 2-3 other months that are unpleasantly hot for most people.
Should be negatives for months with extreme temps.

Index for my dream climate: 13.0ΒΊC coldest month mean = 2 points 23.0ΒΊC warmest month mean = 2 points 1331 mm of Annual Precipitation = 0 points 6.9 cm of Annual Snow = 2 points 3131 hours of sunshine = 3 points 67.2 precipitation days (1 mm) = 2 points 38.6 thunderstorm days = 1 point
Total: 12 points (At least I like some t-storms and downpours!)
Index for Ulladulla: 12.8ΒΊC coldest month mean = 2 points 21.0ΒΊC warmest month mean = 2 points 1169.9 mm of Annual Precipitation = 0 points 0.0 cm of Annual Snow (obviously) = 3 points ~2639 hours of sunshine (Sydney's data) = 2 points 95.4 precipitation days (1 mm) = 2 points ~22 thunderstorm days = 1 point
Total: 12 points (Precipitation did drag the score down a bit)

CRISPR I had the same idea after reading the start of the thread! Vostok station is sunny and dry... 22mm is surprisingly wet, but who am I to doubt the observer.
Dome A / Dome Argus only receives 1 to 3 cm of snow a year. It's still at 17 points, not quite dry enough to reach 18.
Dallol scores 18 points assuming the sunshine is high enough. Coldest month 30.3C Warmest month 38.6C - 0 points Only a few days a year record measurable precipitation.
I'm looking for a 21 point city.
EDIT:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antofagasta is very close but only gets 19 points. Winter average is 13.8 (min 16) and summer average is 20.2 (max 20). It has 3,032 sun hours. The other cities in the area looked at were under 3,000 but I didn't check every station.
Calama is much sunnier, nearly 3000 hours, but too cool (10.3C in coldest month).

Arequipa has 20 which is the highest so far. Milwaukee gets 6 - 0, 2, 1, 0, 1, 1, 1. The 2 is for mild summer temps. My dream climate gets 7 - 0, 3, 1, 0, 1, 1, 1. It's cooler and snowier, but winters already get 0 and the cooler summer adds 1 point.
0 is not possible but I'm curious how low a score is possible.
A climate would need... Coldest month below 4C
Warmest month above 28C
At least 1050mm of rain
At least 100cm of snow
Less than 2000 hours sunshine Over 150 precipitation days Over 50 thunderstorms a year.
Thunderstorm data is hard to find. There might be some cold stormy mountaintop that gets a score of 3. Mount Washington? (probably not stormy enough for a 3).
Mount Read? Not 50 storms. Link
A climate with 28C summers and 4C winters is rare (Turpan is one) but those are generally dry and sunny places.
A hot, stormy climate scores 6 at the lowest (coldest month > 16, no snow).

I agree the index is nonsense, but it's totally correct about this climate
