August 31st is the last day of meteorological summer. But if you define the end of summer here in Phoenix as the last high 100°F+, then it is still "summer" here. We still have a few 100's in our 7 day, and our avg last 100°F is October 4th.

Based on the forecast, summer will continue here through the first week of October, with high temperatures this weekend into next week between 24c and 28c for most of the Vancouver region.
For a recent year analogue, this mid-late summer into early fall dry/warmth pattern across the PNW is pretty similar to 2012.

Daily highs stayed around 22° until around the 20th, then it cooled down quite a bit. Definitely feels like fall now.

Summer is still very much holding on in Seattle, we haven’t even had our first fall rainstorm yet, with sunny weather forecasted for the rest of the week and this Sunday will be 78F in SeaTac and 77F on next Sunday. I don’t remember our “fall” being this warm and sunny before, but it’s a nice surprise as it makes up for our very cold and rainy spring we had this year.

Going a bit further back, 2002 and 1986. This has been by far the driest September in my living memory (1994) and the dry strike is continuing on into October! There is only been one time when we had less than 1 inch in October and that was 2002 with 0.51 in, so will be interesting to see if this year can beat that? (I was 8 in 2002 so I don't really remember the weather back then) 2022: 0.13 in (3.302 mm) 2012: 0.24 in (6.096 mm) 2001: 0.43 in (10.922 mm)

Update, we are possibly done with triple digit highs this year, but we are still seeing nights in the mid to upper 70s (near the top of climatology for early October), so I'd say finally making the fall transition

Despite no rain in sight still I would say summer is definitely over, we still see temps in the low 70s F but the nights are definitely getting colder and are now consistently in the upper 40s F. It’s definitely an unusual fall.

Based on temps, either September 14th (after that day it was noticeably cooler than the first 13 days of September even with the warm spell for 19th-22nd) or the 22nd (the last 90°F high of the season). Funny thing is, the cold front the evening of 22nd pushed through mere minutes after the fall equinox.
