Thunderstorm days are unfortunately hard to find but I discovered this site which has thunderstorm days for a lot of US places. Matched up almost perfectly with the CF6 from NWS, just off by a day occasionally so Iβd say its accurate. However, the blue βaverageβ column is not accurate and much lower than reality, so you to have to manually calculate the average. Still for a given month or year its easy to to find thunderstorm data and for far more places than NWS.

Hereβs Loveland airport (~10 miles SE of Fort Collins) for 1998-2022:
January: 0.0 February: 0.0 March: 0.3 (Most: 2 in 2004) April: 2.1 (Most: 5 in 2003/2012) May: 6.8 (Most: 15 in 2015) June: 8.5 (Most: 16 in 2003) July: 10.3 (Most: 17 in 2022) August: 8.8 (Most: 15 in 2007) Sept: 3.4 (Most: 10 in 2004) October: 1.2 (Most: 4 in 2013) Nov: 0.1 (Most: 1 in 2005/2013/2014) Dec: 0.0
Year: 41.5
Least: 25 in 2002 Most: 61 in 2004
This confirms my poor luck with storms:
-September-December 2020 had 0 -2021 had the 2nd fewest overall -January-May 2022 had the fewest since 2002 -Confirms ive only experienced ~15 storms here

Looks like Madison, WI is on 34 thunder days for the year. Only 2 in September after 9 in August though. I can confirm that: since I moved down here, we've had thunder on four days (August 27 and 28, and September 3 and 20). The big 3+" rainstorm we had the second week of September actually didn't come with any thunder.

Nice find! They have data for sites all over the world. Bangkok has two, one for each intl. airport. Data for 2011 appears to be wrong (very much lower than other years) but otherwise seems to be pretty close to other figures I've seen.

Any reason why the one airport has so many more than the other?

Any reason why the one airport has so many more than the other? It's a decent amount but nothing compared to further south in this region. Around the Strait of Malacca (Singapore, Medan, etc.) there are 150-200 thunder days per year! Not sure why Suvarnabhumi gets more storms. Maybe because it's closer to the coast?
