It's OK. Summers are OK except in really shit years. Winters need to be far milder and are by far the worst part of the year. I prefer 13-15°C and more sun in winter.

Most people like the weather some of the time here, but aren't satisfied with the climate as a whole. But since it's so variable, most people don't hate it either.

Most people like the climate here, typically the abundant sunshine is their favorite. Some complain about the summer heat or the cold days in winter, but winter is usually mild enough on average they don’t mind it as a whole.
Maybe it’s the outdoorsy culture but people are much less wimpy about the weather here than in Shitchester. People there either liked San Diego type climates, warm tropical climates or mild London like climates that were just cold enough to get fall colors.

To add more detail, I currently am in Irvine, California (Fair Weather Central). Temperatures here are typically very mild, not very cold in winter, usually not too hot in summer. Everyone I’ve talked to likes the climate here even if it isn’t their personal favorite. I’ve noticed that due to the mild climate, people who grew up in this area have a narrow range of temperatures they find comfortable.

It seems like a lot of Madisonians are huge wusses when it comes to cold, wearing thick coats, flannel shirts, etc. the second we have a high below 15 C. My thought was "maybe it has to do with how many people from India there are around here", but even the white people are like this.

People here in Atlanta seem to enjoy the weather here and the outdoors, and for good reason, as it's a very good climate. Some people complain about the persistent heat and humidity of the Southern summer, but that's about it. After all, the climate is pretty much perfect aside from the humid summers.

Its a funny thing....there's 150,000 population in the Top End....I would say most people have a love/hate relationship with the climate here.
Back in the day, lots of employment opportunities, and Commonwealth Govt departments would transfer people North for a year or 2....some came here and loved the climate and outdoorsy lifestyle and stayed. Some forced themselves to endure their time here and couldn't wait to leave and head back down south to what the know and were comfortable with.
I'm one of those who came here for 3 months and stayed for a lifetime.
Many get to retirement age and fuck off down south or over to the milder tropics of Queensland.....not me....I'll be buried here.
My three kids were born and bred here....they all have bought property and are showing no signs of wanting to live anywhere else.
Its really only Oct-Dec and April that are the brutal months, if you can handle them, the rest of the year is Paradise.

Not really. People often complain about the changeable summers and the many months of cool/cold weather that drag well into spring. It's interesting since most do admit our climate isn't all that bad by global standards, but you hear a lot of negative comments in daily life. Living in a predominantly warm and sunny country, it makes sense though. It's standard for people to compare their climate to nearby places and not the other side of the world.

I asked several people today how they'd rate Sheffield's climate from A-F. Most rated it as a C, describing it as "pleasant", with no extremes of temperature or ever getting much truly bad (as in severe) weather. No real heat or cold. Nobody had anything bad to say about it. One young man quite correctly said "you don't expect the sun to shine all the time". Exactly. For living in there are far worse than this climate. I think's it's also what you're used to. But yeah I was unsure how people would rate it generally - til I actually asked them. So Sheffield gets about a C/C+.

Most people don't give a rat's ass about weather. Living in a big city you don't think too much about it unless it's uncomfortable. More people bitch about winter than summer. Sunny weather is generally embraced.
One thing, most folks don't realize they live in one of the cloudiest significantly populated areas on Earth, unless they've lived somewhere else (likely sunnier) in their life.

Relevant Geodiode video. Using population density as a benchmark of climate preferences, we can say that humanity prefers Koppen category C climates, with Cfb, Csa/Csb, Cfb/Cwb, and Cfa/Cwa in order of increasing population density.
Most people in the US dislike the gloominess of PNW winters but enjoy the cooler, non-humid, dry, and sunshine-drenched summers.

Not really, I haven’t seen anyone here who likes the climate. Most people here say they can’t wait to move to somewhere sunnier and drier. The cold here isn’t particularly disliked, the most disliked feature of our weather is the gloominess.
Weird how people in this forum fetishize thunderstorms. I have never met anyone in real life who likes thunderstorms.
