A couple of places with similar sounding names but worlds apart geographically, culturally and climatically. Kadoka, your full on Continental heartland USA region near the 'Badlands' of South Dakota. Extreme seasonal temps, both max and mins, semi arid and likely a pretty tough place to live..... Kokoda, a bad place for Australian and Japanese troops, a name that evokes the ethos of military heroism for the Australian Defence Forces, second only to the Gallipoli Campaign of WW1. Kokoda was the site os a series of battles against the IJA ( Imperial japanese Army ) in 1942, fought along the Kokoda Track in what military historians have described as the most horrendous conditions in the annals of warfare. Terrain from near sea level up and over the 6000' Owen Stanely Ranges with cold and wet in the mountain passes, hot and humid in the lowlands, no possible evacuations for wounded troops. Constant mud and rainfall in the 4000mm per annum climate...Aussies used local tribal villagers, known fondly as 'Fuzzie Wuzzie Angels' as porters and stretcher bearers....some wounded soldiers were carried by hand for 100klm back to Port Moresby hospitals. They are held in the highest esteem by Aussie Veterans ! KADOKA: Nearest Airport at Philip, SD Kadoka www.nps.gov/badl/index.htmKOKODA: Popondetta at low altitude near the coast Kokoda at the foot of the Owen Stanleys www.abc.net.au/news/2020-02-18/arnold-forrester-kokoda-veteran-dies-aged-100/11974770warfarehistorynetwork.com/trail-of-death-the-kokoda-track/

The South Dakota one. Really picking the lesser of two evils here. At least May-September is pretty nice in the SD one, while no time of year is good in the PNG one.

South Dakota but far from ideal.

Kadoka is superior in every way.
Kokoda, like most equatorial regions, is a dense jungle full of diseases, venomous creatures and cannibals, I also assume Kokoda is cloudier and more depressing than London.

South Dakota is preferable despite the continentality and extreme weather.
Popondetta on the Kokoda track has a fairly similar climate to Singapore. Really shows that the level of development is crucial for taming the climate and associated environment, diseases, etc.

SD, no question, despite cold nights in winter it still gets respectably above freezing and isn't hot and humid all year around.

The Papuan one and that isn't saying much. One extreme versus another.

South Dakota I guess- likely sunnier than Papua seals the deal

Easily the PNG one, it's too rainy but a tropical climate will always win against an arid continental shitfest

Kokoda, PNG. Not a good climate, but at least it isn't -25C.

Kokoda
Too washed-out but at least it doesn't have depressing winters.
