Oban is NZ's southernmost climate and it's similar to southern Scotland. Both Nauru and Oban are very wet, monotonous and boring, and lie on the same longitude (167ยฐ -ish). Similar in that regard but very different with temperatures as one is very windy oceanic climate and the other is very tropical. Pick your poison.  |

Nauru....perfect tropical island paradise....except its not....was once the wealthiest place on earth with the phosphate mining activities which pretty well stuffed the natural environment.
Simply cant vote for a place on an island south of the South Island of NZ....

Granted, Nauru loses some points as it seems the weather there would be quite monotonous - but the only thing Oban's climate is good for is killing yourself.

Oban because cold rain is far superior to warm rain. They both suck though, but at least Oban's winter matches up very similarly with my ideal winter.

Nauru for getting warm weather. Oban would probably feel very cold year-round even if it objectively isn't.
