Sochi for having handsomely rainy winters and summer being its relatively dry season. Also, the more consistent summer warmth is important.
I'm like how palmy Sochi is, at least in pictures. It has cooler winters (and every other season) and only a few degrees milder in mean absolute annual temperature compared to here, but it looks like people actually enjoy growing palms there. Here, people also grow some palms, but they're not super common in public spaces compared to Sochi. Sochi also grows some varieties that I would think to be very marginal there, such as date palms. The best I've seen here are washies and sabals.

Sochi for having seasons instead of Failbourneโs random weather.

Sochi. Incomprehensibly warmer summers. Both have gay polar wet manky winters that last forever, so may aswell go for the one that actually gets a summer.

Melbourne for being drier and less humid in summer as well as the variability. Sochi doesnโt get enough snow to be worth it

Was temped to pick Melbourne for milder winters and more sun, but had a change of heart after seeing Melbourne's god awful dryness (especially in summer).

Melbourne only for the warmer winters. Both are stinkfests really, but at least Sochi is nice for its latitude.

Barely Sochi but it's really a toss up. Both are shithouse climates. Also Russia is infinitely better than Australia, so there's that as well.

Tough one. Sochi has much more consistent summers with much warmer lows. On the other hand, those cold, wet, cloudy winters in Sochi look miserable (reminds me of the PNW). Melbourne winters aren't great, but they're a significant improvement. I think I have to give it to Melbourne. Since both are mostly coolish climates, the drier, sunnier one has to be my choice. But give Sochi drier, sunnier winters and it would be an easy choice.

Sochi easily. Cooler, snowier winters and more rain year round.

Failbourne for having less seasonal temperature variation (though more day-to-day), more sunshine and less drizzle

Sochi for warmer summers and more seasonality. Probably gets way more T-storms than Melbourne. Also, Melbourne is notably windier than Sochi, and I don't like that.

Sochi, more consistent warmth in summer, and it's wetter/more humid.
