First off lets define the Intermountain West, it is the land between the Cascades/Sierras and the Rocky mountains. For this particular Battle I'll be focusing on the states of Nevada, Utah, Idaho, E. Washington, and E. Oregon. There are to many locations to choose from with a wide verity of climates, impossible to have them all battle it out. So I decided to only list out the locations that have sunshine data, however you can discuss any other location in this region if you so choose. So anyway here they are. Spokane, WA
Walla Walla, WA
Boise, ID Pocatello, ID
Salt Lake City, UTReno, NVLas Vegas, NV

Spokane for its moderate winter lows and acceptable summer highs Reno is too hot during summer days but is a close second for its milder winters. Nice to see you around Grega, have you permanently made the shift?

I'm still going to stick around in City Data, but the weather threads over there have recently been kinda boring so decided come check this place out again. Anyway I voted for SLC, it's similar to Spokane but summers are longer and hotter, and the winter highs are a bit warmer too, and most importantly it's sunnier.

This place is like six times bigger these days and I'm not even exaggarating

Spokane but they're all too hot in the summer. Here's a good one that I've been to in the summer: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dillon,_Montana#Climate

1. Salt Lake City A-
2. Pocatello B 3. Boise B 4. Reno B-/B
5. Spokane B- 6. Walla Walla C+/B-
7. Las Vegas D-
SLC is the clear winner, Vegas the clear last. Pocatello, Boise and Reno are all very good and it’s pretty much a toss-up between them.
