This is something that's been talked about recently in the shoutbox, so why not make it into a thread as well? This assumes no precip or substantial airmass changes from frontal systems.
Ideally, daily highs should occur an hour or two after solar noon—when the sun begins to get lower in the afternoon, but temps shouldn't fall much from daily highs until sunset.

Good thread idea.
In the afternoon for me, 3-4 PM. Should be similar to the high until sunset assuming there’s not a thunderstorm. I don’t like when it peaks while I’m at work and then cools down noticeably in the afternoon.
Hard to vote in the thread as I don’t care how it relates to solar moon, the time of day is much more important

The timing in my climate is 2.5hrs after solar noon in summer.
It really depends on the climate. On my climate 3 hrs after solar noon is good.
In a warmer climate ideal would be just after solar noon.

Within 1 hour of solar noon. I like when solar radiation and temp are correlated. Sunset should be substantially cooler than solar noon (about 10 F on a clear, calm evening).

2-3 hours after solar noon and ideally around 3-3:30PM. This is only really important in late spring/summer, when cloud/rain should be scant and fall in the form of short late afternoon or evening thunderstorms. In other seasons I don't care if it peaks closer to or even before solar noon.

I like when the high temperature is a bit later in the afternoon (let's say 4-5 PM), so that I can enjoy the peak warmth of the day outdoors after work.
Problem is, I also prefer when clock noon and solar noon are similar. So I'll compromise at 3 PM for the sake of realism.

Don't care much but I think I prefer more hours closer to the high than the low, which is the opposite of what usually happens here.

From 12h to 16h. Not a big fan of the warmth dragging into the late afternoon/early evening especially in the middle of summer.
