3/5 are ok, surprising for so high. 41. Mount Locke, Texas— 6,790’ (2,070 m)42. Mount Charleston, Nevada— 7,460’ (2,274 m)43. Cooke City, Montana— 7,483’ (2,281 m)44. Darwin Ranch, Wyoming—8,190’ (2,496 m)45. Cloudcroft, New Mexico— 8,679’ (2,645 m)Mount Charleston for me, this was a tough choice as I like the stormier summers of Cloudcroft but it was just too cool in summer and I like the snow of Mount Charleston.

Mt Locke easily. One of the best climates in TX, just needs more rain.

Mount Locke for the great temperatures. Reverse the precipitation pattern and that's an A grade climate.

Mount Locke
Winters are still too cool and dry, and summer lows also too cool, but that's a nice three-month period with decent average highs - could be a lot worse at that altitude.

Mount Charleston for being somewhat balanced. The others are not that great.

Mount Charleston has too much warm season snow and is too cold at night then, but it has good rainfall for Nevada.
Mount Locke is too warm and dry in winter, and the others have lame summers.

Cooke City for the excellent winters. Summer is would feel more like spring or fall but that's still warm enough for hiking and outdoor things.
Darwin Ranch is similar, but it's 6F colder at night on average so it barely gets a mild night ever. Looking at some averages, about the warmest day you could get is 85/50 in Darwin Ranch and 90/50 in Cooke City.
Mt. Charleston has much better summers but gets more rain and thaws in winter. Cloudcroft isn't continental enough and Mount Locke is comfortable but not amazing.

Mt Locke, not bad for 30ºN and 2000 m of elevation

Nevada has the best overall temperature range on the list.
