A pair of climates described as 'subtropical' in their respective hemispheres, the differences being the examples of record cold in Waycross and the record heat in Walgett.
And, although I've not been to Waycross, I have been to Walgett, your typical unsophisticated 'bush town west of Woop Woop', worlds away culturally from the 'big smoke' urban cities of Brisbane/Sydney/Melbourne. perhaps a few cultural similarities between the two places.
I was watching a movie only yesterday that was filmed in Waycross, 'Savage Salvation'.... was ok I suppose.....
And as a young fella here in Darwin I saw a Charley Pride ( American blackfella C&W artist ) concert where he sang a song written by Bobby Bare called 'Miller's Cave'. 

So he has some skank of a woman in Waycross, Georgia, but she was a bit of a COAT ( of a thing ) and played up on him with some mean ugly bastard called Big Dave the toughest SOB  in Waycross. So he reckons, "fuck this..." and shot the pair of the pricks and carted 'em off to Miller's Cave to hide the bodies....
So now he's the most wanted man in the State of Georgia, but no bastard can find him, because the silly fucker has gone and got himself lost in Miller's Cave.....
