Let's compare the climate of two cities named Odessa, one in Texas, another in Ukraine, both with praire landscapes. Odesa, Ukraine (Odessa is the Russian spelling) Odessa, TexasOdessa was named after the Russian city, perhaps because the grassland reminded somebody of Ukraine.

Texan one for its amazing temperature averages and less snow. Also famous for being home to Friday Night Lights, the book/movie about a dynastic high school football program.

Texas
Love those delicious warm to hot summers, and the lack of a cold winter.

Odesa - those summers are Only complaint is it's too dry but the temps are decent year round. Odessa is too hot and even dryer.
