Let's compare the climate of two cities named Odessa, one in Texas, another in Ukraine, both with praire landscapes. Odesa, Ukraine (Odessa is the Russian spelling)   Odessa, TexasOdessa was named after the Russian city, perhaps because the grassland reminded somebody of Ukraine.   |

Odesa - those summers are  Only complaint is it's too dry but the temps are decent year round. Odessa is too hot and even dryer.  |
