srfoskey your vote came in after 3 days were up and doesn't include all seven matches, so I'm not counting it. There were definitely some REALLY close contests this time around, including some that narrowly avoided ending in a tie. There weren't really any of what I would consider runaway victories here. Congratulations to our winners: Match 7: desiccatedi85 13: srfoskey 12 Match 8: Wildcat 13: nei 12 Match 9: Marcelo 14: Donar 11 Match 10: tommyFL 16: jetshnl 9 Match 11: cawfeefan 19: Benfxmth 6 Match 12: Ariete 13: AJ1013 12 Match 13: caspase8 13: fairweatherfan 12 This now gives us 13 winners, and the question of how to proceed into the second round with an odd number of climates.

I’m filing a protest. With srfoskey’s vote Ariete and I should be tied. Pretty obvious you didn’t count it solely due to the fact that you don’t like me. Srfoskey and Metsfan should also be tied. If you don’t remedy this the tournament is tainted.

If you don’t remedy this the tournament is tainted. That's bullshit. My personal feelings about any given poster don't have anything to do with counting votes. I had all the votes tabulated yesterday afternoon; only reason I didn't call time then was due to not knowing how to resolve the issue of an odd number of climates advancing to the second round. Srfoskey's vote came after three days since my posting, and it doesn't even include all seven matches. Furthermore, there does not seem to be precedent for what happens in the event of a tie - it was a close contest, be happy your climate eked out as many votes as it did.

You should have posted the results yesterday then. Or made a comment in the thread saying the round was over. Figure out something to do in the case of a tie. Shouldn’t be that hard.

I tried asking for input about the former issue (odd number of climates) in the shoutbox yesterday afternoon but was ignored. Didn't think to make a post saying the round was over anyway until overnight, after I'd shut down my computer. You're just upset that your climate didn't win.

You’re trying to screw both srfoskey and I. If your ego won’t allow you to count the vote for my climate at least let srfoskey’s end in a tie.

AJ1013 my "ego" has nothing to do with this. Silence, child. If my personal feelings about other members really were in play, there would be several other contests I would have rigged to see the other climate win. Ultimately (barring objection from someone else because it seems everything I touch is ruined), I have decided to count srfoskey's votes, as I had indeed not called time before his post despite it having been longer than 3 days, which leaves two tied matches among the seven. As such, we are going to have a 36-hour runoff round to determine which climate from these two matches will advance to the second round. Match 1: desiccatedi85 vs srfoskey
Match 2: AJ1013 vs Ariete
Hopefully we don't manage to tie this again and cause even more controversy...

This now gives us 13 winners, and the question of how to proceed into the second round with an odd number of climates.
The three winners with biggest margin get a bye to the quarters, while the remaining 10 go to a reduced round of 16-type in order to define the other five quarterfinalists.
For the repeated matches... 1) Metsfan
2) AJ
