Inspired by Candle's post, I took the last 12 Julys for here (decimal-point records are from 1-minute observations). Rate away, and choose your favorite July when commenting (e.g. "Jan" is July 2011, and "Dec" is July 2022)!

No tropical rainforest climate will ever deserve a higher grade than F.

Might as well pick the "June" as the best July here, as it is the wettest and warmest on average. Probably had the best storms, but I could be wrong.

A-Could just use some warmer record highs and more-evenly-distributed precipitation, and it'd be perfect. Love that July 2011 in particular

E-. Too seasonless, too much humid warm rain. At least it does get heat and storms.

I wasn't here in July 2016 ("June") to experience it, but that month had 20 thunder days here, probably good quality ones with warm temps/ample diurnal heating:

Proof that much of the United States can be seen as "effectively temporarily tropical" during midsummer.
F. "August" is the least-bad.

E, too hot all year. August is the least bad. Storms keep it from getting an F like Phoenix May did.

E+ Too sticky and wet. This really brings home how wet coastal NC is in the summer.
