Might as well pick the "June" as the best July here, as it is the wettest and warmest on average. Probably had the best storms, but I could be wrong.

I wasn't here in July 2016 ("June") to experience it, but that month had 20 thunder days here, probably good quality ones with warm temps/ample diurnal heating:  |

Proof that much of the United States can be seen as "effectively temporarily tropical" during midsummer.
F. "August" is the least-bad.

E, too hot all year. August is the least bad. Storms keep it from getting an F like Phoenix May did.
