That was 2 degrees warmer than average.
The number of days with rain was certainly obnoxious as was the sheer amount of gales. Boooooooke.

Bingley Average high: 13.2C (+1.1C) Average low: 8.7C (+2.6C) Mean temperature: 10.9C (+1.8C) Rainfall: 104.6 mm (+5%) Sunshine: ~ 80 hours (-7%) Only five nights below average all month, and three of those were right near the end. Up until then we were on course for the highest October average min on record, which is still 9.0C. We had a lot of gales before the leaves had the chance to fully turn, so not much of a foliage display for us this year.

Turku, Finland
Max high: 15.7C (16th) Avg high: 8.4C (-0.4C) Mean: 5.5C (-0.5C) Avg low: 2.6C (-0.6C) Abs low: -4.4C (21st)
Highest low: 9.5C (2nd) Lowest high: 1.6C (26th)

Slightly cooler than normal, mostly due to a very severe cold snap later in the month. Very drab and rainy. Poor month all in all and a continuation to an extremely awful year.

^^ How in the hell does your climate do that, the nights cool down but the days warm up even when the sun's getting weaker?!
It must be looking really desert dry now as well I bet.

Monthly 24-hr mean is 6.1C both based on 1986-2015 and 1961-90 Too many rain days, about half the precip came the last 4 days, but total is near normal. One overnight low below 0C. Oslo area managed to have a rainy month (132 %) and still have a sunny month compared to avg The far north had an interesting October. Max snowdepth in Tromsø: 45 cm on Oct 31th. The last three days had snow on the ground. But also new all-time high (18.6C at met office 100 m asl) in the first days of the month, old record 17.2C from 1984. Perhaps even more interesting Oct a little south and inland at Bardufoss in Troms: Mean: 1.4C Avg high: 5.8C Avg low: -2.5C Abs high: 20C (new record!) Abs low: -13.4C Max snow depth: 35 cm. Snow on the ground last two days of month. Bergen: Monthly 24-hr mean: 9.6C avg high: 12.6C. The record low was 2.4C. Precipitation 403.8 mm (149 %) Lærdal recorded ca 50 mm precip 67 sunhours.
