More about October in Norway. For the country as a whole, temperatures were 1C above normal (61-90). The two northernmost provinces set new all-time heat records for Oct. Warmest high in Oct was 21.5C at Nuvsvåg near Hammerfest. The month was very wet in the southernmost part (>200 - 250 %), and much drier in the northernmost part, where some stations only recorded ca 50 % of normal precip. For the country as a whole, precip was 115 %. Wettest: 682.5 mm at Gullfjellet (345 m, Bergen municipality). Driest: 11.3 mm (28 %) at Polmak near Kirkenes. Warmest station was Lindesnes with 24-hr mean 11C. Coldest was high mountain stations, with -3.4C at Juvasshøe (1894 m). Having a look at the wet area... South coast E of Kristiansand

Whats up with sun hours in Oslo in september? I remember the weather was quite normal, but not that bad. And there were far more rainy days in july than 4, thats for sure. According to yr it was 98,2 mm of precipitation in july. South-Central Scandinavia had very low diurnals in September as a result of intense low-pressure systems that kept absolute temps and averages in check. Even here on the east coast of Sweden, October was actually two hours sunnier in September (Norrköping's station) so although weird, it was definitely representative for the greater geographic region

Pretty much a record-warm month in September and even that failed to cross the 20°C line That's a line that pretty much any maritime station in my region has crossed several times, being coastal and 21° more northerly. To cap it off, in 2014 that even happened near Baba!

I think suicide is a viable alternative to living in SF. Those summers, plus no thunderstorms. to be fair though, much hotter climates are only a day trip away. But if I was confined to SF for life, I would actually prefer Seattle, warmer summers and more chance of storms!!! Infact, I would probably pick London over SF aswell, warmer summers and better chance of storms! And it's not like SF's winters are anything to cream over.

That should be as close to a Beerman-approved No Cal coastal* climate there is? * has an inlet of the South Bay right beside it

A massive improvement over San Francisco, but still doesn't have thunderstorms (and the record lows are too low, and the summer lows could use a good 5-10C boost.) Still, less than an hour drive from SF, and probably cheaper property, why would anyone actually live in SF?!

I don't see how SF could appeal to any weather enthusiast. There's really very little there in terms of cold weather, hot weather, storms, snow, has a ridiculous seasonal lag in the summer. The only thing of interest is the occasional heat spike but that's about it. It's like a less comfortable Lima.

Big storm here today, 600 lightning strikes over my house.
