Not to mention spare cars being banned, which is the thing that pisses me off the most. That way, Vettel and Verstappen would've restarted their races in Singapore. Cost cuts boo-hoo fucking Mercedes-wanking FIA plonkers

I don't really find it all that interesting these days, the cars are too reliable so it takes that element of randomness out of it. I suppose I should support Hamilton because he's the most exciting driver to watch, but he's such a poser I've never really been able to warm to him.
Nowadays I'll probably watch a handful of races a year and forget about them pretty much straight away, back in the day though I used to watch EVERY race and every qualifying session that wasn't on at stupid o'clock at night and I can still remember a lot of them really well. Another classic, Monaco in the rain and only four cars finished hahaha!

Monaco 1996 was a very clumsy one yes! Also in 1997 when it was ran in full-wet downpour conditions, the fastest lap was 1 m 51 s around a 2-mile circuit Still they went around 61 laps. Incredible.

I (and many others) miss 70s-90s F1 and CART/IndyCar. But it's essentially all gone now due to economic, political, and generational changes. Today, we're left with Mercedes domination and Ferrari fuck-ups in F1 and a still barely breathing IndyCar in the US. The eradication of tobacco sponsorship really took a toll on all motorsports.

Formula One is the ultimate disgrace these days. Politically controlled out of Mercedes' HQ and boring racing. MotoGP is where my total attention is now at least for the remainder of this season. It's growing leaps and bounds because it's stuck to what it does best, provide competitive racing at places people actually want to go and watch it

The race at Phillip Island last year was bonkers. The next MotoGP race is at Motegi this weekend (and then Phillip Island after that). I'll be going to the SuperGT finale at Motegi next month. Super excited. As for F1, I cannot wait until Mercedes is gone. It was better with Rosberg since he didn't allow himself to be a #2 driver to Lewis, and now Bottas is essentially the #2 driver. Of course there are many other (bigger) problems besides Mercedes though.

Time goes too quickly I know Here's the full race upload MotoGP did on Youtube of that race btw One to watch again and again. The Ben needs to watch it to fall in love with racing once more I'm looking forward to Motegi. It's set to pour down all weekend so either way it'll be very interesting. Today both practice sessions ran in the wet and Márquez and Dovizioso stood out which makes it set for a briliant weekend. If it's suddenly dry on Sunday it'll be an interesting shake-up! Win-win simple as! Also one of the few races on "comfy time" for someone living in Vancouver as well

To be honest I don't even remember if it was 2015 or 2016 but I thought it was more recent than 2015 haha. I love that circuit though. And yes, time really goes too quickly the older I get!

Here are the final 1.5 laps onboard with Marc Márquez. This is the most crazy stuff I've ever seen on a dry track I will also never forget the 2009 race when Casey Stoner on his inferior-handling Ducati pulled out 2 secs per lap on the others early on in the race

Great duel between Dovi and Marquez in Motegi. If you haven't seen it I won't spoil who won that one. For once I managed to pull myself out of bed for a flyaway I really hate those Far Eastern mornings, being a spoiled European and all that. Great race, especially considering the track conditions that usually cause the field to spread out a long way, which it did, except for between those two. Márquez obviously blew it with those mistakes, he'd been pushing his rear tyre extremely hard and had no grip, but was a bit lucky to stay on the bike there. For Dovizioso this one was like a playoff race, he had to win this one to really stand a chance. Now he'll have to hope it rains at Phillip Island next weekend given his history of struggling there in the dry. I'd say Márquez is still favourite to win the title 7 times out of 10, but that final lap really proves how critical every single point is. Had he gone down Dovizioso would've led by 9 points

I'd say it's likely to be dry rather than wet at Phillip Island, but you never know. Either way, that will be an exciting race. Yeah, every race, every finishing position is so critical at the end of the day. Gotta fight for every point to the finish line. The WEC 6 hours of Fuji is also about to wrap up. It was red flagged due to poor weather conditions.

Yeah, every race, every finishing position is so critical at the end of the day. Gotta fight for every point to the finish line. The WEC 6 hours of Fuji is also about to wrap up. It was red flagged due to poor weather conditions. Seems like quite a serious autumn outbreak in Japan right now That part of the world is rather wet anyways so it's difficult to pick a perfect time to race. Unfortunately it cost Jules Bianchi his life along with his stupid decision to push under double-waved yellows on a bonkers, unraceable wet track with shit Pirelli tyres. That latter part was evidently not something FIA considered when mandating that Halo crap Phillip Island is looking promising for now, but a bit of ominous 30 % risk of rain on Sunday. Having said that, tyre temp is going to be a big factor with highs set to be around 17C and very seasonal in that regard. I think that ought to suit Márquez very well, and for Dovizioso any podium would do in that scenario. The bad thing with that for Dovizioso is that he would have to rely on Márquez falling in Malaysia to have a chance of heading to Valencia with his nose first. Márquez fell in both those races last year, but this time with the title on the line I think he'll be extremely determined to keep focus and not experimenting like he did on PI with lines and how he pushed last year. Oh well, who won? Did Porsche go out with a bang? Normally, I'd be looking forward to the final 50 laps of Talladega's NASCAR tonight Sweden time but unfortunately I'll have to go to bed at 9.30 pm tonight because school so I'll be forced to miss out. I'll have to travel all the way to Motala tomorrow, which is almost 100 miles anyway and going to be made further complicated by other stuff

Toyota won but I'm not sure if the organizers actually finished the race though or if they just said fuck it.

Interesting qualifying today at Phillip Island MotoGP for sure, and a potentially disastrous swing in the championship for Dovizioso. None of the Ducati's got heat in their tyres while Marc Márquez wrapped up pole, resulting in a 10-spot starting line-up difference tomorrow. With Márquez also looking very solid in terms of race pace and probably five-six guys look set to beat Dovizioso tomorrow unless something radically changes I guess this could be a knockout blow in the championship. Although I'd loved to see a 2015-like finale in Valencia in November, if Márquez pulls out a 30 point-gap here it's richly deserved because the guy rarely ever seems to have a bad day. Even during random conditions with the cold air and track, while having plenty of guys trying to slipstream him he still pulled out three tenths or something. Tremendous Predictions for the race 🖕🏿Mörön🖕🏿?

Speaking of that halo wank, it looks like it sort of obstructs the driver's vision, no? I'd imaging it would be annoying for the driver to have a big bar right infront of his field of vision. Had enough of all this cotton-wooling of F1. Everything from the stupid boring assembly-line Tilkedromes, butchering of classic tracks like Hockenheim to making everything run by computers and the 2 hour time limit

Everything from the stupid boring assembly-line Tilkedromes, butchering of classic tracks like Hockenheim to making everything run by computers and the 2 hour time limit Yeah, they'll impede around 10 % of the vision, potentially causing devastating shunts and severe leg-breaks like the one that cost Billy Monger in Formula 4 his legs earlier this year. The F1 cars have incredble safety cells but legs can still be broken and if they are, it'll probably be because of the halo. Also if the car ends up on fire and upside down the driver's now trapped and dead cert to die. Fucking Nanny State FIA cuntsacks It's like Danny Andrews and his Labor gubburmunt is running it, wouldn't you agree? They seem like copies of each other. Wanks.
