Speaking of that halo wank, it looks like it sort of obstructs the driver's vision, no? I'd imaging it would be annoying for the driver to have a big bar right infront of his field of vision. Had enough of all this cotton-wooling of F1. Everything from the stupid boring assembly-line Tilkedromes, butchering of classic tracks like Hockenheim to making everything run by computers and the 2 hour time limit Yeah, they'll impede around 10 % of the vision, potentially causing devastating shunts and severe leg-breaks like the one that cost Billy Monger in Formula 4 his legs earlier this year. The F1 cars have incredble safety cells but legs can still be broken and if they are, it'll probably be because of the halo. Also if the car ends up on fire and upside down the driver's now trapped and dead cert to die. Fucking Nanny State FIA cuntsacks It's like Danny Andrews and his Labor gubburmunt is running it, wouldn't you agree? They seem like copies of each other. Wanks. Most definitely. If it was up to Victoria's communist party, he'd go one further and make the track speed limit 40km/h in the name of safety ofcourse.

Most definitely. If it was up to Victoria's communist party, he'd go one further and make the track speed limit 40km/h in the name of safety ofcourse. They banned refuelling for "safety reasons" so these days the cars cruise around at walking speed early in races, so you may well be onto something here. Maybe Jean Todt is a puppet for Daniel Andrews? (oh and a puppet for Mercedes too in a revenge attack against the Ferrari/Fiat board).

Interesting qualifying today at Phillip Island MotoGP for sure, and a potentially disastrous swing in the championship for Dovizioso. None of the Ducati's got heat in their tyres while Marc Márquez wrapped up pole, resulting in a 10-spot starting line-up difference tomorrow. With Márquez also looking very solid in terms of race pace and probably five-six guys look set to beat Dovizioso tomorrow unless something radically changes I guess this could be a knockout blow in the championship. Although I'd loved to see a 2015-like finale in Valencia in November, if Márquez pulls out a 30 point-gap here it's richly deserved because the guy rarely ever seems to have a bad day. Even during random conditions with the cold air and track, while having plenty of guys trying to slipstream him he still pulled out three tenths or something. Tremendous Predictions for the race 🖕🏿Mörön🖕🏿 ? Márquez will do well. Dovizioso will have a difficult race but let's see if he can charge to the front.

He claimed he lost confidence in the front after his fall down Lukey Heights just before qualifying during FP4, so he'll need a perfect warmup to regain the very good pace he had on Friday. If he gets there I can see him charge to P4 or something tomorrow, provided Márquez, Viñales and Rossi finish. The cool weather suits Yamaha pretty well it seems. Le Mans etc!

Márquez will do well. Dovizioso will have a difficult race but let's see if he can charge to the front. Looks like he didn't charge jack shit Candle First of all: on a cold track with a bike struggling to get heat in the tyres, how the hell did he go for mediums? That really screwed up things from the beginning. The guys up front certainly gave Márquez a hard time, but during the final six laps or so he showed that he's in a class of his own talent-wise. He really must be the best motorbike racer of all time this dude Was fun to see Rossi back on the podium and looking so pleased with the racing. Not very impressed by Zarco's tactics but he certainly has some speed and was desperately unlucky to miss out on a podium. Iannone was his usual crazy self too... he went full bowling at times

I thought Iannone would get a podium but Viñales, Zarco, and Miller made sure that wouldn't happen. Miller showed very well too. Dovi fell down to 18th or so at the beginning too. I liked his hard-fought battle with Petrucci though.

I liked his hard-fought battle with Petrucci though. Yeah for a while it seemed like Iannone was flying the same way he did there in 2015 but he probably burned his tyres big-league when he did that. I think there's a decent chance of a Vettel win tonight but I'm not going to watch. Obviously still fuming with FIA and Mercedes, I'll tune into the NASCAR playoffs instead Do you watch NASCAR? If you're reading @tarheelboi do you think both Jimmie Johnson and Kyle Busch will make it through to the next round? I'd say so. I struggle to see Ryan Blaney containing them on a low-banking 1,5-miler...

Not sure why Bottas finished 5th though...? I don't follow NASCAR...

More F1 lunacy Beercules and 🖕🏿Mörön🖕🏿 ! classic.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/132599Sounds totally legitimate to not allow any practice. Doesn't risk any accidents at all that way... yeah right. Formula Wank. Now that the driver is 1, trapped underneath the Halo 2, losing eyesight: no driver is ever going to risk anything ever of course so who bothers? Oh wait

25 races as well?! The drivers would be completely burnt out by the end of the season, is that not obviously going to mean more accidents and lower-quality racing then? Plus casual fans won't bother watching it on TV as much, why bother making time for qualifying AND the race when you know it's on again next week anyway?

Plus casual fans won't bother watching it on TV as much, why bother making time for qualifying AND the race when you know it's on again next week anyway? Yeah. It's not exactly NASCAR which flies around one specific part of a continent, has roughly equal tracks and a defined playoff/marquee races that mean way more than the others. This is supposed to be a full season. How are you going to get a championship to go the distance when it's 25 rounds? It was hard enough already with 16 races for heaven's sake! Also with the boring racing on display, do they really think this will boost audiences? Also in addition to that, they want to add further shitty street course races and expand even more outside Europe to countries like Vietnam et cetera. It's complete bonkers and we're witnessing Formula One committing suicide in front of the world. Hopefully by 2030 Formula One will have started from scratch, have 17-18 races mostly in Europe, the Americas/Australia/Japan and cars with 1990's downforce levels and attributes. That's the only salvation.

Plus, look at how many countries it's only shown on the subscription channels, I get half of the races free to air this year but I won't get any next year, so I doubt I'll be watching it at all. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Formula_One_broadcastersIt's not football where the public interest is guaranteed rock solid, getting F1 out to a bigger audience probably makes more financial sense in the long run than the extra money they get now from the pay channels that only a fraction of the population actually watches.

Yep, the audience levels are sheer misery here even with Marcus Ericsson on the grid. They don't even show it on TV3 because they're too greedy to get subscription money. It's the same with the EPL here too. They're really killing of the golden goose. Hopefully we could get MotoGP free-to-air sometime here in Sweden because it really deserves a boost with the quality of racing they have. It really is crazy how the Swedish media treat the World Rallycross Championship, Swedish Touring Cars, Speedway Grand Prix, the Swedish Speedway league and DTM are more important championships than MotoGP They're off their rocker. There are only three important championships around: F1, MotoGP and NASCAR: yet the Swedish media live in some fucking bubble.

Do you have certain sporting events that HAVE to be shown on free TV? We do here, it's not legally binding but the sports have agreed that it's in the public interest to get the biggest possible audience: www.bbc.co.uk/sport/34192650

Not that I care too much about any of that stuff these days! I'm way more into politics: that's my sport We do have an issue though that the SVT uses too much license money to buy sporting rights and then bribe the politicians to make the license an actual tax so they can continue buying more and more rights. They're just dumbfucks. Gosh I'm sick of Sweden

That overtaking move by Verstappen on the last lap was great, but once again he was too aggressive with all 4 wheels leaving the track. I thought poor old Raikkonen was gonna be screwed over again, man what an insult that would've been for him yet again. Geez, Raikkonen is very reserved and always seems pissed compared to the other drivers, even on the podium he just started drinking the champagne rather than spraying it on his fellow podium mates lol.
