For me: Redding, CA = C (warmest winters, but too warm and dry summers. The seasonal range and diurnals are too high IMO). Reading, PA = C- (good warm half, not so good cold half of the year. At least there is no dry season). Reading, UK = D (Typical British climate: not enough warmth, sunshine or t-storms. Not as bad as Fair Isle or Lerwick; but not Gibraltar)
