Here's a simple test to see whether you love weather or are a mere comfort wanker.
Does your dream climate:
Have coldest month mean temp above -15C? Have record low above -40C? Have hottest month mean temp below 32.5C? Have record high below 50C? Have annual mean between -3C and 27C? Get less than 100" of snow a year? Get baseball sized hail less than twice per year, on average? Have an average annual windspeed under 20 MPH? Have average hottest month daytime dewpoint below 27C?
6 Yes or fewer: You're a real weather enthusiast and we need more of you on the WWF 7 Yes: You have some comfort wanker tendencies 8 Yes: Sorry but you're a comfort wanker, go experience some real weather 9 Yes: Move to San Diego, Honolulu, or Tenerife now

I don't want snow though and that's the only interesting weather my dream climate is very very unlikely to get, though not impossible.

Looks like I’m off to San Diego! Good thing it’s cheaper than SF and LA.

Here's a simple test to see whether you love weather or are a mere comfort wanker. Does your dream climate: Have average hottest month daytime dewpoint below 27C? This is true for more of my fictional climates than you'd think (am a coastal Californian at heart), but I don't think there are very many climates in CE 2023 Earth that have average daytime dewpoints above 27 C... The only places I'm at all confident this is true for are certain parts of the Iranian Persian Gulf coast like Bandar e-Abbas. Although Hanoi and Kolkata could definitely give you a run for your money if Windy app data is accurate, and if June is the hottest month in both.

Only a few brave souls have answered 6 or fewer. I'm not one of them.
A typical hot climate or cold climate has at least 3 "yes" answers
Average daytime dewpoint over 27C is severe I agree.
Does any place get baseball sized hail with any regularity? I doubt it. 20 mph wind is very high but not impossible. Is there a city that windy? Mountains definitely can be windy like that, and my second guess would be a sub-antarctic island.

Wellington, NZ has a well deserved reputtion for being a 'windy city', but I couldn't tell you what the actual figures are..... www.surfertoday.com/windsurfing/welcome-to-wellington-the-windiest-city-in-the-world#:~:text=America's%20Windy%20City%20has%20an,%2C%20in%20fact%2C%20extremely%20windy.

Not my dream climate but Jakarta would have 8 yeses with the only "no" (annual mean) borderline a yes (just above the threshold). Same for anywhere at low elevation in Indonesia, straddling the 8/9 yeses border. Dew point average is still too low for a "no" in that regard...
So sea level/lowland Indonesia is the upper end, heat and humidity wise, of the "comfort" climate.
Higher elevation Indonesian cities like Malang and Bandung would have all yeses with the cooler annual mean.

I have a moderately variable four-season dream climate that is Dfa, but I still got 9 yeses. I guess that makes me a comfort wanker.
