Of course, the parameters of what is regarded as a 'hot' day is entirely subjective.... its not just the max temp on the thermometer, there are often other things to consider when using the term 'a hot day'.... ie RH. DP's, wind speed, departures from the norm, acclimatization to conditions, etc etc..... Post up the stats from where you live re how many 'hot' days a year you experience..... Doesn't really matter what you consider your cut off temp... For me I'm using the 35c ( 95f ) max temp as a 'hot' day.... simply because they are nice round figures in both systems of measurment... none of those pesky decimal points to bother with.
This thread also has a bit to do with the warming of climates around the world post WW2... in AU about 0.5c since 1950. But its not just the warming trend, there seems to be ( at least where I live ), many more 'extreme' heat days in the 21st Century. I'm wondering if this is happening in other places around the WWF world.
Darwin +35c days the last 6 years: 2024 = 23 ( so far 23/09/24 ) 2023 = 39 2022 = 27 2021 = 44 2020 = 44 2019 = 45

Wyndham, WA +35c days the last 6 years: 2024 = 105 ( so far 23/09/24 ) 2023 = 270 2022 = 248 2021 = 254 2020 = 244 2019 = 264 An honourable mention to 2016 with 273 +35c days ! and a yearly mean max of 37.5c !

NWS Melbourne uses 95 F/35 C as the threshold for adding the "hot" descriptor to the forecast. I would rather use daily mean temp if the data existed, but this is good enough.
Average number of days per year (2002-2023): 5.7 days
Record highest: 16 days in 2011 Record lowest: 0 days in 2008 and 2014
YTD: 11 days

Days >35 c
Average: 7.4 Most: 19 in 2002 and 2012 Least: 0 in many years, most recently 2009
Number has definitely increased, full por average is only 4 and the last year below the 91-20 average was 2015.

Lol Ask and ye shall receive: Nearly all the Capital cities have 'warmer' sites more representative of the population hub. Both Sydney and Melbourne show this re the 'hot' days ( +35c ) per annum. In the interests of fairness I've done sites similar distances away from the official AWS for both Sydney and Melbourne. NWS uses the 97°F threshold as a descriptor for "hot" here, so here're the stats >=97°F days for the AP (KEWN)...
Average number of days per year (1991-2020): 3.6 days Record highest: 17 days in 2011
>=95°F (for comparison's sake):
Average number of days per year (1991-2020): 9.1 days Record highest: 28 days in 2011
