From a purely climactic perspective, I prefer the less precipitation days and warmer summers of Yreka over Eureka. However, given that Eureka stays green year-round, and is located in one of the most naturally beautiful regions of the country, I'd choose Eureka to live in over Yreka. The somewhat lackluster summer highs can easily be mitigated by driving even slightly inland as well.

Eureka, it's practically my climate's winter year-round. I would get used to it eventually.
