Warning: stupid thread
There are two things hot weather and spicy food have in common:
1. Some people like it, others find it hard to tolerate 2. They make you sweat a lot
So that got me thinking, is there any correlation between the two? Let me know what you think.
Edit: Cuisines famed for their spicy food tend to be from places that have a hot climate, such as India, Thailand and Mexico. Conversely, places far from the Equator aren't exactly known for having a spicy cuisine, such as northern Europe.

I love hot weather, and enjoy spicy food from time to time, albeit not to the extent of some in here.

Generally don't like hot weather, and I love spicy food. Have something spicy almost every day.
That said, there's nothing like having something spicy af on a hot/humid day with a cold alcoholic drink.

Most of Japan is pretty hot/warm for most of the year, at least not much different from Korea or Sichuan which are known for their "spicy" food. Japanese cuisine does not have spicy food. I can't think of any cool/cold countries with spicy food though.

Love hot weather and hate spicy food.
Iโm actually okay with spicy food, I like adding a little bit of hot sauce for flavor, and I also like seasoning my food with pepper. But I donโt usually enjoy eating food that makes my mouth feel like itโs on fire.

Quite obviously, because peppers and chilis (capsaisins) grow exclusively in hot climates. These spices have been traditionally very expensive far from their growing areas.
Not any weirder than the fact that countries far from the equator tend to be better at skiing.

And I like hot weather and love spicy food.

Korea has spicy food and cold winters. The winters in Korea are not cold. Yes they are, apart from Jeju island.

The winters in Korea are not cold. Yes they are, apart from Jeju island. Exactly. Seoul averages 35/22 in January, Pyongyang averages 31/14, Hyesan averages 18/-8. Busan is the only place in mainland Korea that stays mild year-round.
