Inspired by NetWeather.tv forums. community.netweather.tv/topic/88587-october-fog-index/We all want a seasonal, snowy cold winter, don't we? Yes, of course we do. Well, did you know, that using the OFI, or October Fog Index, we can determine the likelihood of such a coveted winter. "According to the Farmers' Almanac:cc_confused: and weather folklore in general, a foggy October leads to a snowy winter, time to put this to the test. I've called it the October Fog Index:fool: let's hope it's better than that October Pattern thingy or whatever it was called:whistling: We are a week into October, so how many fog days have you had so far and do you believe in these 'sayings', or are they a load of old gobblers?"So how much fog have you been seeing/are likely to see this October?

The Farmer's Almanac is a terrible source of weather information. I predict a warmer and less snowy winter than average because that's typical for El Nino years in the Upper Midwest.
