Places with the same name ( sorta ), but light years apart climatically. Both sited in very remote locations and of course, both regions are world scale players in the fossil fuels industries. Generally speaking, hard men and women call these remote isolated places home.... BARROW ISLAND, WA: www.news.com.au/national/the-island-where-nature-and-big-industry-coexist-but-youre-not-allowed-to-see-it/news-story/25429bd2a5dfbbd9918de86fb43a7d8bClimate: Highest wind record: The World Meteorological Organization established Barrow Island as the location of the highest non-tornadic wind gust ever recorded, at 408 km/h (254 mph). The gust occurred on 10 April 1996, during Severe Tropical Cyclone Olivia. The previous record was a 372 km/h (231 mph) gust at Mount Washington, New Hampshire, United States in April 1934 BARROW ( UTQIAGVIK ), AK: www.escape.com.au/destinations/north-america/usa/tiny-us-town-thats-suddenly-on-the-radar/image-gallery/bb7e621ad78fd49db423a38130bc7d57Climate: Owing to its location 330 mi (530 km) north of the Arctic Circle, Utqiagvik's climate is cold and dry, classified as a tundra climate (Köppen ET).

Barrow Island AU, because it's comfortable most of the time. Pretty solid for a tropical climate, like a dry version of South Florida.

Those dew points are still quite a bit lower than South FL's mean dew points during summer, which is what Mets was comparing to.

Those dew points are still quite a bit lower than South FL's mean dew points during summer, which is what Mets was comparing to. Granted... merely pointing out that during the rare active monsoons that make it that far south ( and Cyclones ), that the combinations become pretty awful. Also the max temps not infrequently broach 40c despite being 50 klm off the coast, with some high dews. No where near as high other parts of the world, but still shitty working out in it...lol

Barrow Island, Australia EASILY. While I would prefer more precipitation, Barrow, AK is a hole.

Barrow Island easily- plenty of sunshine and warmth within its winters. Too bad that the hot, muggy and yet still dry summers knocks it down to a D. Utqiagvik is depression.
