Italian Syracuse by far. Sorry NY, you'll never reach the gloriousness of the Med climates.
Strange how the summers are pretty short though (in Italy's Syracuse)...

Italy, really nice Med climate - great summers and very mild, dry-ish winters. The NY one is a pretty well-balanced four season climate though IMO and probably more interesting weather-wise (storms, snow).
