Inspired by a shoutbox Dicksuction between myself, Gior, /0 and Marcelo today (not the first time though), I thought I'd post a battle for a bunch of climates at this latitude (both in the Northern Hemisphere and Southern Hemisphere), near the same latitude of Seoul, South Korea. Which one of these has your favorite climate? Northern HemisphereSan Francisco, CA St. George, UT Durango, CO Wichita, KS Richmond, VA Moving on to the Eurasian/African climates (at 37-38°N). Ponta Delgada (the Azores) Cartagena, Spain Bizerte, Tunisia Catania, Italy Konya, Turkey Tabriz, Iran Ashgabat, Turkmenistan Zhongwei, China Shijiazhuang, China Seoul, South Korea Niigata, Japan Southern HemisphereConcepión, Chile (it's a bit north of 37°S but it's the closest site with a weatherbox for west coast of SA) Mar del Plata, Argentina Tristan da Cunha Melbourne, Australia Hamilton, NZ

Bizerte Seems to have the most of everything I value No storms in Bizerte. I feel like you’d be happiest in Wichita.

If there really is NO storms there, then yeah I'll have to deal with some winter arcticness. Witchita has a great 6 months of the year, the other 6 months are terrible.

Beercules SteelernationBizerte has a flash density of 1 strike per sq km per year, Wichita has a flash density of 9 strikes per sq km per year. So roughly ten times the lightning in Wichita.

Benfxmth I'm not convinced about Catania that you have posted.
This is the weather box that is beneath the weather box you have posted, much more reasonable and recent:

You are right about 1961-1990 data being unrepresentative of the current climate (also about maded up sunshine data), Sigonella is a bit inland though so it gets a bit larger diurnal ranges (hotter daily maxima in summer for instance).

Richmond, although I'd like its summers to be a bit cooler. An exact intermediate between Richmond and Mar del Plata would be the best.

Bizerte is easily the best of this bunch for being the rainiest subtropical Mediterranean climate on the list, but there's better climates at this amazing latitude. Nearby Tabarka in Tunisia is better, and Pyrgos in Greece is among the world's best and are located at the same latitude.

Niigata - excellent combination of wet and not too cold winters and nice subtropique summers.
