Wonder how this one will go. One is a relatively sunny highland oceanic climate that can see 0C in a summer night and winter snow in some occasions. The other is, well, Melbourne. Lol

Melbourne. Hard choice though, Orange gets nicer diurnals and rainfall but the warmth just isn't there.

I wouldn't call Orange 'oceanic' myself.... after all they are sited 270 klm from the ocean and westward or the windward side of the Great Dividing Ranges. The coolish temps are simply altitude related and rainfall comes from frontal westerlies, rarely from the east and ocean influences. Prefer Orange's climate to changeable Renmark-by-Sea. !

What would you call it then? Highland "subtropical"? I'm sure you wouldn't like the S word thrown on this one. XD

Orange I guess. More predictable in summer and interesting in winter.

Orange is much better year round. More rain but fewer rain days, some snow in winter, and more thunderstorms. Melbourne has an extremely mediocre climate.

Melbourne, warmer annually and better chance for proper heat

Melbourne
Summers are still too cool, but there's no growing oranges in the other shitheap.

Ethereal interesting climate battle indeed. I'll sacrifice some heat potential for sun and stability and pick Orange. Seems to be less bipolar and less windy than Melbourne. I feel like Melbin would be a big disappointment to me, ruining all the fun with stratocrapulus and polar winds.

How about 'shithously cold winter' as opposed to Melbourne being 'shithously cold autumm, winter, spring and most of summer except for the days when it is 'shithously hot' ?

Orange easily. Didn't need to look at the data.

Because I do agree that Orange (and as well Canberra) aren't that oceanic. Makes me wonder (and ponder Lol).

Orange for more rainfall, more summer stability and more interesting winters with a bit of snow

Orange easily. Didn't need to look at the data. I'd personally look lmao. I think Melbourne plays a fair game here. Would you want 0C lows in summer here (something that virtually lacks in Melb)?
